My student was accepted into Sports Management. Originally EA deferred, OOS, 3.5 GPA, 28 ACT. All the options are on the table now - needs to make some decisions on where we hit up admitted student days.

It the awaiting decisionsubmitted and the two tabs today not the admissions one - but with being accepted to second choice, you have to confirm you want that then they send you an official letter and only then you can even go do anything apparently… so it’s not a tell that’s 100%

Virginia Tech is a great school - Some of this makes no sense to me - I am leaning towards VT and PSU myself - maybe we will see you there!!!

You can stay on waitlist but regardless you have to make a decision by May 1st. Keep in mind they may reach out to you after May 1st. You will lose your deposit on the other school if UofSC is your 1st choice. Otherwise if it’s not look into the other schools now to make a solid choice. Good luck.

So if they reach out to you past may 1st and you already have a deposit down, you can’t accept the South Carolina admission?

Deferred from EA, accepted into second choice major (first was business). OOS. A win in this very difficult admissions process!

you can but you would forfeit the deposit at other school most likely, happened to us.

The way i read this is that 15 of the 2791 offered admitted.

Anyone else still not have a decision in portal even though email received yesterday said we’d get decision today? Looks like lots of you received already ..

Note this reflects stats for class starting fall ‘23. Fall ‘24 (the most recent cycle) hasn’t been published yet. That may explain the upthread comment that many more seemed to be admitted off WL on last cycle’s (fall ‘24) thread.

My son read the USC study abroad offer and it took him all of 5 seconds to say he’s going to Penn State! :joy:
I think it’s a cool offer though if it’s a top choice.

Congratulations! A decision is all we as parents want in the end.

PSU is still at the top of DSs list as well. Older DS is there and it is just a great school all around. All of these kids have great options! Congrats!

Daughter was accepted undeclared Arts and Humanities. OOS, deferred in December. She has the same portal status and back door status, submitted awaitingdecision, and submitted. Also had VIP ID, but was never able to log back in after the initial time

Yes you can. U will just lose your deposit from the other school & you hav to let the other school know you are not attending.

Accepted! Communications/Sports Media. Was deferred in December. She was shocked and beyond excited!

Deferred EA, accepted today- OOS. 3.7 uw, 4.0 w, rigorous private school that doesn’t do class rank.
It’s all a mystery to me - daughter had friends with lower stats accepted EA, and friends denied or waitlisted that got into other higher ranked schools (VT, Clemson, etc.)
FWIW, we got scholarships to Wofford and Furman, currently waitlisted at the other big publics UNC, VT, TN.

This is exactly what my kid got. Accepted for Fall to second choice major. We do need to submit a Second Choice Form by March 7 and then we’ll get the acceptance letter. So she did not get into Darla but has been rethinking majors anyway.
Today the regular portal was AwaitingDecision and backdoor was Submitted (although it was Decided for a few days), then it was blank. Now there is no “status” line on the regular portal, but there is Decided on backdoor portal homepage.
Btw, look up Verto on Reddit, etc, sounds like it’s a great program. UTK also offers Verto abroad. My kid would totally do it. Plus the time will FLY by.

My daughter has similar stats and also attends a rigorous private high school. Deferred, then denied at Clemson. Deferred then accepted at U of SC. Accepted to wofford and Furman with generous merit. She was also accepted to CofC with merit. She applied test optional to all of these schools and OOS. There’s no rhyme or reason to the process it seems.
