S25 deferred EA and now waitlisted, with the semester abroad option. US citizen living overseas, 3.6 uw, 9 AP’s with 5 completed before senior year (all 4’s and 5’s on tests), 29 ACT, lots of EC’s and summer jobs, applied for Political Science. In at VT, PSU, Auburn, CU Boulder, deferred and rejected at Clemson. Nobody from his int’l school has ever attended UofSC, so hard to compare vs other students from his HS. It was one of the few schools we managed to tour on a US visit – great place, but definitely won’t consider the fall semester abroad option.

That was pretty much my daughter’s reaction too (she was offered waitlist and the fall semester abroad admittance as well). See you in Happy Valley and congratulations to your son!

Is there anyone who did not receive a decision yesterday? Our son applied shortly after the RD deadline, but his application was accepted and his portal lists it as “regular decision.” We figure now he may be later on in the decision queue, and curious if there are others in this situation.
I think yesterday was EA deferrals who got decisions.
Hmm. Thank you for your response but I wonder if that’s 100% accurate. USC’s post on Instagram from yesterday advised Regular Decision applicants to check their admissions portals for updates to their applications.
I just checked with a friend whose son applied RD, and you are correct, they did release yesterday. That’s frustrating and hopefully you can speak to someone in admissions on Monday. Good luck!

My son was deferred EA, accepted RD but not with admittance to Business, so we will likely go a different direction.

Someone was looking for this…. I went through the q and A for the abroad program and came across this.
I cannot seem to find the waitlist screen above. How do you navigate to find that page?
It was in my daughter’s portal. She logged in and I clicked through to the Verto program and there are several q and A’s.

Is merit stated in the decision letter? So if no mention, no merit?
Merit should be coming out some find out with letter an estimate of merit but there is still a chance for some if you didn’t hear in initial acceptance

Who do you typically contact at Admissions for help? We’ve contacted our specific person assigned to our region and he has never once replied. 
And by “help” I mean we have some questions, and as soon as they answer, we’ll probably commit and register.
We’ve resorted to the general email but has anyone here encountered someone really helpful we should be emailing?
I’m sorry to hear that. My student has had generally quick and informative replies from our rep. I don’t know if we can post specific contact information but perhaps if you search the admissions portal for O. Strull and reach out.
