Where was the merit offer found?

I received an email and when I logged in I had an updated letter, like the notification of acceptance letter.

DS accepted Aerospace Engineering, OOS with merit. Will be declining.

Got accepted after being deferred. BUT got no merit aid. Hugely disappointing as friends had lower stats in every category and got merit. I called admissions and they said “all of our merit aid has been given away.” But I assume when people decline, their merit aid goes into a pool again?

If anyone hears of waitlist movement, please post updates. Thank you!

Does anyone have any info if all Waitlisted applicants received the Verto Abroad invite. Does anyone know from last year if students offered this ever got off the Waitlist for Fall admission instead of going abroad?

I can’t answer this, but didn’t see any talk in last year’s thread about Verto. The earliest I’ve seen offers go to waitlist is 3/27.

I did a quick search and Verto appears to be new this year at USC. It has been offered at other schools in the past (UTK, William & Mary, etc.)

I believe this is the first year they are doing Verto.

Does anyone know if last year was the first year they went to the Waitlist at the end of March?

I believe I saw that there were very few taken off waitlist in 2023, then a good number in 2024. It will be interesting to see if they have corrected for this in offers or will have more openings, especially after May 1.

Not all applicants who were waitlisted were offered the Verto program.

Just a hunch based on last years end of March waitlist releases
.if students do not hear something by Friday March 28 then USC must be trending properly on enrollments. Hate it for the kids and wish we applied for basket weaving just to get in.

Yes! I saw something today about UNC going to waitlist so there is hope until there isn’t.

That was our lesson learned. Do not apply to the most competitive school at that college unless you are certain that is the direct-admit program you really, really want.

Yes, this is the first year for Verto. I spoke to the school and confirmed this.

Does anyone know why some waitlisted students were offered Verto while others were not? I had heard those offered Verto were on the cusp of being accepted but not sure if this is true or not.

Hi, We were touring campus last weekend. I met a mom with a daughter that was accepted off waitlist maybe two weeks ago. She wasn’t offered Verto. After learning she applied for nursing, I realized that maybe nursing and business majors were waitlisted but not offered Verto because those programs aren’t part of Verto transition program.

I applied as a nursing major but was also offered the verto program, so I think those programs did offer some students verto. Has anyone else heard back from the waitlist yet? Trying to figure out if I should move on from South Carolina and start filling out housing application for a different school.
