U. South Carolina Class of 2029 Official RD Thread

My daughter is the same. Offered verto and waitlisted for nursing. We have not heard a peep and moved on. My guess is they really extended verto offerings as it is the first year and a massive win win for Scar to cover enrollment.

Son waitlisted business and offered Verto. It is hard to say what anything ā€œmeansā€ in this admission cycle!

Does anyone know how to decline an offer of admission for USC? My son and I tried to do it today but there doesn’t seem to be a decline button.

At the bottom of the application portal screen, click request a change button. The first item on the drop down is cancel application. I think that would do it.

TYSM for that!

Trying to be patient but becoming increasingly frustrated with the waitlist waiting! DD EA deferred, RD waitlisted, Verto program offered - OOS
Accepted at CoC, ARCH honors program and scholarship. Deposit paid to secure her spot. DD will not commit until she hears back from USC.
USC is her first choice and I feel like these colleges are holding these kids to ransom as they know that all the seats will be filled.

My son is declining his spot today. I hope the waitlist starts to open for these kids.

Curious what your son decided? Mine is in same boat- waitlisted/offered verto program he is unsure about missing the traditional fall semester- he’s a football/bball player & really doesn’t want to miss football games, but USC is his top choice! My older son is currently a sophomore there…

Sounds like we have similar kids!

He is actually going to go to IU - he is ā€œpre businessā€ at Kelley which means he has to get Bs. We toured there and it was a very good fit for him - he thought the business degree and placement was ā€œa cheat codeā€ and socially is a great fit.

He was very strongly considering SC but didn’t want to miss out on the fall. I think he would have done well either place. I hope your decisions go well!!

Has anyone heard of waitlist movement?

TY for your response! good luck to your son!! It’s such a tough choice…
