UAB Economics?

How good is UAB in economics for students looking to go to grad school? I know it had a good business school, but how good is the quality of economics in terms of preparing students for a PhD program in economics? Is the school flexible in allowing the students take the necessary math classes, and has any previous student gotten accepted into a top graduate economics program from UAB?

UAB’s economics courses do not appear to have any math prerequisites, nor does the economics major appear to have any math requirements:

You probably want to add advanced math courses, like 434, 440/441, 485/486, and perhaps 463/464 and/or 484 to prepare for PhD study in economics.

In term of whether UAB students have gotten into economics PhD programs, you may want to ask the economics and math departments.
