UC A-G courses

I understand that only grades in A-G courses are counted into the UC GPA for California applicants. However is this true for OOS applicants? I have a lot of elective courses that I can’t find on the list such as intro to particle physics and personal finance management. Also one of my core English classes isn’t on the list either. Would none of these courses be factored into me UC GPA if I am an OOS applicant?

It is hard for OOS applicants to match their courses for the A-G UC requirements. I believe that all 3 courses would be considered A-G courses and the grades included in the UC GPA calculation. Here is how I would categorize them

Personal Finance Management most likely goes under the G category for College Prep Elective.

Particle Physics would go under D for Science and your English course under the B Category.

You could always email UC admissions and ask their opinion plus you can look at the UC category descriptions below to see if these courses meet the requirements.

Thank you for your response @Gumbymom. On the UC application does it only ask for A-G courses for self reported grades? If so, would I just have to use my own discretion my self reporting grades?

You self-report your A-G course grades on the UC application but they need to match your HS transcript.

I am assuming that you will be filling out the UC application for Fall 2021? You have plenty of time to contact UC admissions and ask questions to make sure you categorize the courses correctly.
