S2 is a junior with a 4.0UW and top .1% PSAT. He’ll finish HS with 11AP. The issue is he’s been a string player in HS orchestra for three years. But for his senior year he probably needs to give up orchestra if he wants to take AP Psych (and two language classes). He wants to be a bio major and has an eye toward being a Psychologist or MD. The question is - would dropping out of orchestra raise any kind of flag regarding consistency or commitment to his music? Should he explain it? It is for a good cause and he could continue with the local area orchestra.
