UC Admissions Question

UC Berkley talks about admission by examination if I haven’t met the minimum requirements (I have met both the minimums and exam requirements). Does the fulfillment of the exam requirement lead to auto-admission? Their website is really hazy on OOS auto-admit situations.

For UCB - I don’t think anyone is auto admitted.

I agree the exam only thing is really confusing but, i think it is a provision that allow them to make exceptions for stand out applicants who are short one or two a-g required classes.

Unless you stand out in some other way, pehaps an olympic medalist, you are unlikely to get in without meeting their core requirements.

That said, apply and make them tell you no. Just have a back up plan for when they do.

Ah, well, I’m set in the stats department (4.0 UC GPA, 450 Exam score, including a 36 ACT). I was just wondering if I was actually a guaranteed freshman.

There is no “auto-admit” at Berkeley regardless of whether you are instate or out-of-state.

No, there is no guaranteed admission at Berkeley. None.
