I am enclosed by four walls. I am part of a larger entity unable to explore my vast surroundings. Narbonne High school as a whole consists of various small learning communities. I am sheltered in one of those small communities. Math and Science Magnet.

I have been a Magnet student since the first grade, which means that I take more challenging classes . Example AP classes.in high school, and being held to a higher standard than non- magnet students. I am also separated from the larger population of my school physically and mentally.

I have known the majority of my classmates since elementary school; and have most of my High School teachers for two consecutive years, one for three. This has allow me to establish and maintain relationship with my teachers and classmates. But, it also prevented me from interacting with others beyond my realm. Outside the spectrum of magnet students and faculty, I have not met many others outside of magnet a part from those in the learning community-integrated elective and physical education classes.

I feel as if I am A chick(en) trapped inside an egg, yearning to break out from its shell, to explore , thrive, and be engage . Although being inside an egg is a form of segregation, it is also a sanctuary where I found nutrients for development ,and was able to enhance my intellectual curiosity. My Magnet community, has prepared me for a life beyond being hatched from the egg, by equipping me with leadership skills. I have had time for deep introspection and will emerge as a person who carries an uplifting attitude and a hunger for success.

I dream of ascending to deviate from familiarity. Breaking forth from the egg mean enlightenment, new beginnings, transitioning from high school to college . I am ready ! ready to embark on a journey outside my surrounding.

As a sheltered chick(en) who has been cut off from the greater Narbonne Community ,it is impertinent for me to communicate and connect with the world on a grander scale . I will pursue my dreams to further my studies as a global student by participating in study abroad programs . International an intercultural experience is my passion.

It was in the sheltered community where the fire was first ignited of being Bi lingual. Later I dream of travelling the world and becoming a linguist, to enhance the language barriers and extend myself out of the familiar shell I dwell in.

I aspire to be a researcher, psychiatrist, and gynecologist to dissipate the shell I have been trapped in for the totality of my school life. Thus far.
