That depends, @LopApo. If you look at the URL in your browser [when you’re logged into your application] and it ends with a # sign, it means your application has been marked for acceptance. If there’s no # sign and the last word in the URL is “status” with nothing else after it, you didn’t get in.
There’s a thread floating around on Reddit, and it was leaked by a CS grad student who helped the school develop this new system. He said in a day or so that’ll probably be taken down once admins catch on. Better check while you still can.
Thanks man, @DBillostas. I’m not surprised @nnatho is killing it! Just hoping we all hear what we wanna hear from UCB a week from today. About an hour ago-ish, probably, from right now next week. Whoa.
Major: Philosophy
GPA: 3.625 (Academic renewal from a university I dropped out of eight years ago)
Essays: 8/10 (wrote mostly about my experience working for one of the country’s largest labor unions)
IGETC: done by end of Spring
Accepted: UCSB. UCD, UCI
Rejected: UCLA
@briank82 Please tell me you are kidding! I have no # sign. Are you being serious or no? Just tell us the truth so I can know for sure that I was denied
Woops. I probably shouldn’t have posted that and left for the evening. I’m joking. It’s an inside joke of sorts for a few of us marathon posters in this thread.
Don’t mind me, just beating a dead horse.
Karma is gonna kill me. You’ll all have the last laugh.
Oh lol you SERIOUSLY got me disappointed for a sec. I was accepted to UCSB and UCSD but denied from UCLA. I am out of state so it’s much more unlikely for me to get an acceptance letter to any UC schools… so I was very excited to be accepted to two of them at least! I am really hoping to get into UCB though. But after being denied from UCLA I feel like I have no chance of getting in here. UCB takes a more holistic approach, right? I have a 3.93 GPA (all A’s and 1 B) but I didn’t complete all the pre-requisites for my applied major (Nutritional Science). I am so nervous.
@BigPanda I don’t know why I got waitlisted. I talked to my friends and all of them feel “surprised”. I don’t know what to do now. In the past few years, it seemed no econ applicants with 4.0 got rejected or waltlisted.
Guys don’t lose hope. A good number of transfers from two years ago were rejected from UCLA and got into Cal. Subsequently, there are also a number of transfers that were denied by Cal that got accepted to UCLA, but either way students in both scenarios are going to great schools (as are our fellow applicants headed to the other UCs and top CSUs.)
