It’s definitely my 1st choice. I’ve been working towards Berkeley specifically and the majors I would pursue there for quite a while, so I feel like I couldn’t be more invested. I only applied to Cal and Davis as a distant(and different major) backup. So hard to wait but exciting!
Got accepted to UCLA last week and am hoping for similar results this Friday, as it is my first choice. Will they also be releasing them at 5 PST?
I saw others asking about the interview. I am an international student but I went to a english speaking school back home and yet, I received the email. I read on UCB’s website that most of the students who went to high school abroad are selected.
And yeah its my first choice as well so I don’t have to move
What time did they post decisions at last year?

4:46 PM.
@hazeldarling @Ohm888 The ASL classes I took were a 3-unit 1a and a 3-unit 1b. It is what normally would be taught in one-semester, even at a CC.
Despite this, it still fit perfectly for the UC requirement. Other CCs around me offered ASL 1 for 5 units, followed by ASL 2 for another 5.
That’s why I took the easier and less laborious ASL1a and 1b and it all worked out the same.
@hdoan24 Are you sure? I’ve seen plenty of things that make me think otherwise. This is for UCSC, but is similar to policies I’ve seen at a handful of UC’s.
“Courses graded P (Pass) or C or better may not be repeated for credit. A few courses are labeled “May Be Repeated for Credit” in the UCSC General Catalog. These are courses in which the course content varies from quarter to quarter. Grades are recorded for each quarter these courses are taken. Undergraduates may repeat courses in which they earn a C-, D+, D, D-, F, W, or NP. Courses with a grade of C- or lower may be repeated only for a letter grade and may not be repeated on a Pass/No Pass basis. Courses with a grade of NP may be repeated on the same basis or for a letter grade.”
http://registrar.ucsc.edu/navigator/section4/minimum/repeating.html
Most things I see consider C- failing and repeatable. Not a C or above, however.
I was wondering–how many transferable units do you need semester/quarter wise to be eligible applicant? I just got confused by going on the UC Davis calculation…
@tooweirdyo 60 semester / 90 quarter is the minimum to be eligible to transfer to a UC.
@uctransfer2016 Yes and no. I feel strongly inclined to go to UCSB. I’ll see what I say after I hear from Berk. Probably something completely different if it’s an acceptance lmao
@briank82 oh! I see. Ok well now I’m scared to look how many units the one I took was. I think it was three but I’m not completely sure. I would totally fail that class if I have to do another one. I was so horrible at it like I would do everything backwards. I’m lucky I made it out with a B. It’s just weird because I thought you had to have it to transfer and I got into all these schools and I took everything straight from my transcript. So idk how that’s going to work. I’ll figure it out though! Thanks for all your guy’s help!
Also I have my IGETC which says I completed the language requirement.
@hazeldarling Just go to assist.org … select your community college and where you want to transfer to. Find where the languages are listed, and see if your course is transferable. If you did and you take two semesters (the second one being the one they want to fulfill “two semesters”), it shouldn’t be an issue.
95 more hours…I’ll be in a heaven or hell
From what I understand with the registrar here at Cal, a C- is considered a “passing” grade but it can’t be used to clear any prerequisites.
For example a C- in Calc I means you passed Calculus, but you can’t enroll in Calc II unless you retake Calc I and receive a C or better. For this scenario, if your major requirements don’t have anything after Calc I, then you don’t need to retake the course.
Graduating senior get away with this a lot in their final semesters. (Weakens your grad school chances though)
In your case, it sounds like they will incorporate those early grades as part of your cumulative GPA. That said, I agree that it should have minimal effect on your admissions chances due to the time gap.
Ah, that really clears things up. Thanks @SDGoldenBear.
My god, I can’t even sleep. I already got rejected to UCLA. This is not a good sign.
@itakenotes I hear ya! whats worse is I feel all this time is making me doubt myself… We all just need to have faith and know that our hard work will pay off! Good luck to all!
@DBillostas Man…I pretty much went all or nothing with business admin major since it is super impacted. I applied to UCLA Biz econ and UCI Business admin which are cut-throat competitive. At this point, I feel like I should have applied for Economics instead. I am a dumbass.
3 more dreadful days.
What time do we assume they will notify us? Will it be similar to UCLA?
