UC Berkeley 2016 Transfer Thread

3 days before the happiest day of our lives

Or the saddest :<

Well not with that attitude!

@itakenotes I also applied to UCLA business econ and was rejected. :frowning: I did get into UCI for Bus Admin though. I am hoping hoping hoping for Haas, it’s my number 1!

Looks like im the only scumbag who picked a different major for UCLA lol (of the business transfers)

In Haas application, essay and ECs are much more important than UCLA and l&s. It’s irrelevant to think UCLA’s decision is a sign for Haas. Tho I understand the feeling.

@Hiroaki0422 it just added to the anxiety! Hah.

Damn, time flew by.

@MikeSauce You’re the scumbag who isn’t in class. Mr. A handed out a pop quiz worth 70% of our grade. Sorry man, you’re probably gonna get rescinded everywhere.

Oh, everyone, it’s Tuesday. Just in case you didn’t know.

Edit: Uh
 spoke too soon.

@nnatho UCI is still pending for me.

How often do transfers get into UC Berkeley? I only applied as like a “yeah right, I WISH I could get in”
Got into UCLA but I’m honestly not sure about whether wishing to get into Berkeley is like trying to hold your breath for 20 minutes or something impossible that I can’t think of.

Transfer applicants get in about 22 out of 100 times

Nah every major has different acceptance rate. Can’t just look at the whole thing.

So it’s possible but it’s not that likely? It’s not as intense as a Cornell acceptance right? Sorry I just rarely ever hear of someone getting in and I’m not sure what to expect- I made UCLA my goal so I don’t know how to think of Berkeley relative to UCLA’s admission process

I still remembered the day where I saw “Berkeley admission decision” in 110 days in my countdown app on my smartphone. And here we are with 3 days left

Admission rate for Hass is 5%, engineering 10%, social sciences 20% and physical sciences 30%. But this year Berkeley received a record high number of transfer applicants(over 19000) so all of them should be going down.

@BigPanda She didn’t ask what her odds were, that would entail looking at many other conditioning factors besides just major. The question was how often do transfers applicants get into Berkeley, which would just be the acceptance rate.

@grimmghost it’s very similar to Cornell. Cornell accepts 20.5% Berkeley accepts 22%.

Those figures don’t describe the types of candidates though. So one school could still have more competitive admissions despite the similar acceptance rate

@screenname34 remember, cornell has a Guaranteed Transfer program that boost their acceptance rate. The normal acceptance rate is much lower than that. For example, CAS in 2011 only accepts 99 out of 758. Engineering only 36 out of 318
