Waitlisted, Political Economy. Creep on my username/history to find out my stats lol honestly a bit shocked (was 99% positive I’d be flat out rejected)
Anyone know what they’re doing regarding housing yet? I’m unsure as to whether I should opt for the residence halls or on-campus apartments, or something else.
I’m not sure if I’m the only one who feels this way but is anyone else a bit confused in regards to Cal’s lack of transfer events? Being admitted to UCLA, it was pretty concise and easy to see the transfer events they have planned and it seems like Cal doesn’t really offer any? Can someone please point me in the right direction for any information to the Cal equivalent of UCLA’s Bruin day? Any help would be much appreciated.
Anyone else having issues creating th Cal net ID??
@purpleoranges Check the right tab on your CalCentral dashboard. There’s admissions events listed.

As an aside, the conditions of admission states the following: “Your admission does not guarantee acceptance into a specific major. You must file a petition to officially declare your major after you enroll at Berkeley. Acceptance into a major is subject to completion of departmental prerequisites and conditions.”
According to this link (http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/eyd.pdf) on page 26, students are accepted as a kind of undeclared major to the College of Letters and Science to which they then have to declare their majors during the first semester. Despite being kind of undeclared, “Transfer students … are expected to declare a major in the area in which [they] have been admitted.”
@ccAndronicus looks like many of us are having this problem. Got to call Berkeley admission at Monday

@Polemic I’m going to apartment hunt like hell, starting this weekend. It’s getting insanely competitive for housing. IMO the campus housing is overpriced and not really worth it.
Go Bears Go Bears Go Bears
Does Berkeley send us some kind of admission packet or are they too good for that?
@goldencub Wait, are transfers not guaranteed housing?!
@goldencub Are you just looking at off campus housing? And is it affiliated with Cal? I’m trying to figure out the whole housing thing… I already put on-campus on my Fafsa, and it was what I really wanted. However, I haven’t looked too much at the on campus options… if there are any spots/how competitive to get a spot, etc and most importantly, how expensive it is!
First of all, congratulations guys, I’m gonna apply this fall, and I’m an international student who currently attending oos cc, could you guys give me some advice to transfer to Berkeley?
I’m confused if I’m an f1 visa holder who are attending oos cc, I’m considered as intl student or oos student?
Thanks!!
@naregian That was referring to off-campus, non-university affiliated housing.
Do you guys know if there is a transfer FB group or app like some of the other UCs??
@screenname34 I’m pretty sure all UCs do… Haha would be kinda sad if Cal didn’t, but honestly, the confetti makes up for it
@mrjeka try to complete as much pre reqs (if not all) as possible, try to be involved in your current college, and prepare early
@goldencub and everyone else:
Uloop and Housinganywhere are promising sites to look for housing. Checking them out now.
@jonuni94 Thanks!!! I hear there’s a Berkeley Housing page on FB too.
