UC Berkeley 2016 Transfer Thread

@Molisha it should be for everyone. It was included in the “Your UC Berkeley Application” e-mail. It’s a webinar to help us fill out the transfer application forms.

I did the TAU and the three forms on the MAP. I have a 3.7. I am scared guys. On a side note, how do you know that you are done with everything? I didn’t get a TAU when I did my TAU. And I didn’t get a confirmation email when I did the MAP forms either.

@pleaseberkeley You’re a History major, right? You’re fine. You have a very good shot.

For the TAU, what you inputted will show on your actual application - log in to your app, and it will say “Updated with TAU on…”, or something along those lines.

For the MAP, just go over it diligently, to make sure you didn’t make any mistakes. There will be check marks next to each of the three completed forms when you go to the home page of the MAP@Berkeley (you should see what I mean).

You won’t get confirmation emails. I didn’t, at least. Or maybe I did for the TAU, I can’t remember - probably not.

@goldencub yup, from the Bay Area too I hope that helps. I saw all of those things. Looks like I am good to go. I’l;l double check it tomorrow.

@lovelyyliz welp I must be blind buaaa I work all day anyways.

@goldencub
Hey, for the UC Berekeley Igetc form, if we run out of space for course titles, what do we do?

@JacobfromCA Abbreviate in the same way your courses are abbreviated on either your unofficial transcript or on assist.org - that’s what I did, anyway.

@JacobfromCA The counselors on the webinar said to do your best to abbreviate. Remember, the people looking at these forms are human, and they will be able to figure out what you’re attempting to convey.

@goldencub @csmajortom

Thank you very much!

@goldencub The webinar was helpful and confirmed the discussions we’ve had on here. For the lab portion of the “General Education/Breadth” form because there is no option to choose one without the lab (as we only need either bio/physical with lab), then they said we should just clarify that in the additional comments box that we took one with the lab and the other without to satisfy our requirements – in my case IGETC.

And yep, as @csmajortom said, because people are evaluating these forms… they will read the comments and try to best understand what we are trying to convey.

@andie127 I did, is that a good sign? :slight_smile:

@lovelyyliz Hey, whats the verdict? :-SS

Does anyone know what we should put under our grade, when doing the update, if we have not yet started/completed the course?

@lovelyyliz Oh no, I had no idea about that! :frowning: do you happen to have any insights to share/answers for the poli-sci question? :slight_smile:

For the IGETC science course lab, I took a biology class with lab. So under lab I put my class info down, but left the field at the top blank. When I click submit, it says I need to fill it in. I’m confused what to do?

@Philosoup put the course info under the lecture part. Under the lab part, put in whatever you want in the course title section (eg. “Taken with lab”, or as @goldencub put, “n/a”). Then explain in the best way possible what you want them to know in the additional comments section. You can say “I took my biological science with a lab, and the lab was integrated into the class”, for example.

so when completing the science with a lab, did you guys put 3 credits for the lecture and 1 credit for the lab?

@uctransfer2016 if it hasn’t started yet put PL (planned) if it has started or will when you submit the update but IP (in progress)
