UC Berkeley 2016 Transfer Thread

@sbccstudent19 exact same thing has been happening to me! I emailed admissions and emailed me back asking for my applicant reference number birth date and full name (guessing so they can put it on my file). In the mean time though I wrote about the issue in the additional comments section and included my Bio classes info there.

@sbccstudent19 it really shouldn’t be an issue as the admissions officers stressed that this will be real human beings reading the supplemental forms, not a computer. So as long as you put it in your additional comments section I think we should be golden

@browneyedgirl95 @sbccstudent19 did you guys try checking the IGECTC completion tab? I’m trying to checkmark it however, whenever I come back to edit, the checkmark on IGECTC completion is gone. Any suggestions?

I had issues with it saving and updating what term I took my courses in :’(

I faced the same technical problem. According to UCB, we need to put it under additional information

@browneyedgirl95 - do you think I should email admissions or is putting the course in the additional comment enough? It’s frustrating there are still technical difficulties because I don’t want an incomplete update!

I don’t even know if the system is recording our latest inputs. If you see forms on the main page, you can see all the dates of submission. However, if you click on edit, you’ll come across the green tab on the top which provides another submission date. what is happening ?

Let me just make everyone’s day and say that 750 more in state students will be accepted into UC Berkeley this Fall. Thats super good news. And if you are a minority, I read an article that said they will focus on having more under represented minorities in the UC system. Everyone have a good day and remember that the Regent scholarship will be sent out in about 10 days.

@pleaseberkeley source for regents?

http://news.berkeley.edu/2016/01/11/more-than-100000-students-seek-admission-to-berkeley/ " While most prospective freshmen will learn of their admissions decision March 24, up to 2,000 students will be informed of their acceptance to Berkeley on Feb. 12. This group of high-achieving students will include students selected to interview for Berkeley’s most prestigious scholarship, the Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholarship. "

^it sounds like that may be for only freshman regents, or would t be transfer too?

Found the answer “The changes regarding early notification and letters of recommendation do not apply to transfer applicants, who will learn of transfer decisions April 29.”

Guys I recently got into an advanced basketball and intermediate volleyball class. I didn’t think they were UC transferable so I didn’t put them in my TAU. Should I call the UC system and notify them? Should I just leave this alone? What do I do lol.

you are supposed to report every class, even if they are not transferable.

@LopApo When I tried to put down my math 55 and math 65 classes it would not let me because they were not transferable. It didn’t even give the option to list them. How would you include a course that is not transferable? Where is the option?

@pleaseberkeley In the application, you were able to hand-write any course. Transferable CCC courses were able to be selected- all other courses required being hand-written.

@goldencub Does this hurt me if I call UC tomorrow?

@pleaseberkeley I doubt they’ll care much. You can always add it to your application (via TAU, or the forms, even - or mention it on the additional comments).

You should contact them, though, if there are any courses that you did not report in the application. It will not reflect negatively upon you, complications happen all the time.

@goldencub Good, I was about to pack my bags and get ready to go to UCSB.
