I heard that most people get accepted in the first wave, and that each following wave will have much less acceptances. Is this true? If not, how do the waves work? Do the most qualified get off first?
Also I was waitlisted in state for L&S CS, GPA was 3.789 u/w and then became 3.767. I think my optional statement was exceptional though. Can you guys post your stats? Especially those that got in?

Idk where I went wrong. I had a good GPA, test scores, extra cirriculars, and essays…
@johnlimster Likewise. I’m starting to get the same feeling I did on March 30th. 
@dfoeknnhww , I had 4.0 UW, 4.55 Weighted, 34 ACT, 2200 SAT, and I thought my waitlist essay was good. I also kept all A’s during my senor year too.
For those of you admitted, does your letter state what major you got admitted to or just the college? Mine says “You have been admitted to the College of Letters & Sciences;” however, I’m a little worried because it doesn’t say that Molecular Bio is my major.
Also, I don’t see the deadline for the SIR…
@johnlimster That’s amazing! Do you maybe think you’re overqualified/let them know they are your first choice (if true)?
What other schools did you get in if you don’t mind me asking? Btw my friend got in L&S in March with a 3.6 u/w… don’t know what’s up with this system.

@dfoeknnhww I had a 3.8 GPA, 2080 SAT, 740 SAT II in Math but I think I wrote a really strong waitlist essay explaining why I really wanted to go to Cal. However, I didn’t apply for CS, which is probably more competitive… Best of luck! I’m sure you’ll get in soon

do you guys know if they base waitlist admission off of major? (i.e. is it harder to get in with a CS major than it would be for another major?)

@johnlimster @jahvascript I also applied to LSCS with good stats and didn’t get off the waitlist. I thought that they don’t consider our major for letters and sciences admissions though…
Just got off the waitlist!!! L&S, major in astrophysics. I got the offer for January start unless I do FPF. I’m an international student.
@katiemiller @dotdotdot1 they say they don’t, but I think they do. There are people I know with lower stats and got in for other majors in L&S. It’s like Cal saying that SAT Subject Tests are optional, when they are mandatory in reality.
@dfoeknnhww I got waitlisted at UIUC, Berkeley, and UCLA. I got in UCSD, UCD, and UCI. I didn’t apply to any other schools other than those 6.
I applied to L&S CS and didn’t get in. It’s not looking good for us. They may be trying to reduce the number of people trying to get into CS
Just got in with Undecided Engineering Major!
Now I kinda wish I applied to a different major in L&S instead of CS
