I mean to be fair Berkeley CS is definitely the best and most selective out of all the UCs so it wouldn’t be crazy for even a cracked applicant to not get in.
Same situation as this, accepted to all UCs for CS w/ multiple regents but likely wl/reject

It’s normally the other way around that I see, which is not getting into any of the other UCs and yet get into Berkeley. So this would be something new…

If my son has the ID, is it possible to have gotten in for Chemistry (College of Chemistry) or alternate major: Chemical Biology (College of Chemistry) and switch to ChemE (College of Chemistry)

They don’t consider alternate majors unless you are waitlisted which in this case your son isn’t. All signs point to an acceptance on thursday for Chemistry!

No, there is a chance to get admitted in an alternate major. I read in main thread-2029, one early admit student says that he got admitted into his alternate major.
It’s not. My kid had multiple regents (one in CS for UCSD) and got denied UCB for L&S. At UCLA now.

Can you help me out? So I have the ID but I also have the fall semester thing which is apparently for L&S only. I applied for Haas * [Robinson Life Science, Business, and Entrepreneurship Program], which Berkeley says only first years can apply to. My alternator is Molecular and Cell biology at the college of L and S. However, on the Robinson program websites it says only current sophomores apply to the program. Did I get admitted to my alternate major?
I’m not entirely sure sorry. I don’t want to give you false information. I think the best advice is just to wait until thursday to be honest and see what happens.

Congrats, hopefully its the best news for you. Did you by chance get an email fall program for first semester ( email) i believe its only for L&S.
There has been no evidence that new ID’s have been uploaded this week.

Yep, I applied to UCLA for CS in the Samueli SoE and got in on Friday.

A bit more data points, among all I know in my school, 3 out of 13 ppls have the id by now. All 3 have 4.0/>4.8 GPA with various national wide awards.

guys one of my friends applied to dual degree sciences po and DID NOT get an ID. they were notified early that they didn’t get accepted into the DD program so I think if u get an ID even if u applied to DD you are like 95% accepted.
that person from last year was likely a very special case

Maybe the thing about them reconsidering a small percentage of decisions at the last minute was correct? Either way if you have a ID now you are basically in unless you get extremely unlucky.

Devastated… I have a 4.81 GPA, Valedictorian, leader of my very own 501-c focused on refugee healthcare, Regent scholar, 2 Internships (One being in a public health research lab at Columbia), first gen student, president of premed club at my highschool, 11 APs, associates degree, and I’m in varsity tennis all four years.
Despite this, I get an “account not found”. Is all hope lost? Do I give up my dreams and end it all? All of this work— my entire life and childhood— wasted. Seriously?
