UC Berkeley 2025 Portal Astrology Discussion

For sure, berkeley is the most hollistic out of all the UCS

data science didn’t have 200 admits last year :skull:
cs maybe

2000 is total I believe across all years.

ya I was referring to cs

Last year essentially all CCDSS admits from our school were for DS, so I do think they admit a LOT more than CS does.

No that’s the number that declared the DS major last year

At least 6 people from my school got into Berkeley for that major. No chance its that low bruh

100%, berkeley is the uc that cares the most about who you are as a person. def the most similar to ivy admissions vs other ucs that are super stat based.

Does that mean if i apply to public health the id astrology may be incorrect?

403 forbidden, i have an id

403 forbidden is not a sign anymore, its been patched. everyone has that

I forget everything after AP stats exam😂

UCB admits students based on College not Major right? If I listed an intended major, as long as it’s in L&S I should technically always be able to switch to another major within that college right?

yes

My cousin is at Berkeley, she said if it’s for one of the impacted majors you can’t just switch after 2023 admit year they made a new comprehensive review where you have to apply to declare the impacted major unless you were accepted for that impacted major. You only have 1 chance to apply if you are rejected you have to pick something else. This is really important because they just started seeing data from that admit year, so no one knows how easy or hard it is to switch just yet. Just FYI, you can look at the website for current impacted majors but it changes every year.

Berkeley is the only UC that looks at majors in letters and science

NONE OF THESE ARE IN DEMAND ANYMORE: Majors No Longer Considered “High-Demand”

The following majors have been removed from the L&S High-Demand Major list.

If you were admitted in Fall 2023 and selected any of the following majors on your Admissions application*, you still have a guaranteed spot in that major (subject to completing prerequites, meeting academic standards, and filing a declaration form). The L&S Comprehensive Review process no longer applies to the following majors:

*Computer science, data science, statistics - as of Fall 2023

Economics - as of Summer 2024

Psychology - as of Summer 2024

Global Studies - as of Fall 2024

Media Studies - as of Fall 2024

Weird, it’s all the popular ones too

Can someone verify?

does anyone know how hard it is to transfer from L&S to CDSS
