Thanks for the information. Its so weird because on some of the websites it says you will be admitted into Haas as a first year and some say you have to apply as a sophomore, thanks for the confirmation

As a parent of a Berkeley dreamer, I have been glued to this forum since Friday, when my daughter told me she saw her ID loaded onto her portal. She had known about portal astrology from the prior years, and I was so hopeful. I wanted to congratulate all of you, Berkeley bound or not, you all have bright futures and you will end up right where you are supposed to be. It has been beautiful to see how you all supported one another and lifted each other through the process of waiting. Made our week so much better having this forum to go to. My daughter did have an ID as of last Friday, the first “wave” of Cognitive Science, and she said very few others were added over the weekend. She was accepted today and is beyond excited and grateful. Already declined all other offers and accepted, going to Berkeley in the fall! This is her dream and I am so happy for her! Noting it this year for future years. If you have an ID, this very likely means acceptance unless this is patched, and this is very unlikely, as this year’s portal astrology for ID=Acceptance is now seven years in the running. Congrats to all!!!

Hi…does that mean they offered your son to join through this program when giving him his waitlist reply? my son only got a letter saying they offered him a place on the waitlist, but nothing more

Hi. The FPF program is a condition of admission for me, and I think it was because I applied undeclared for l and s. I saw the enrollment requirements, and was wondering why they have to limit the courses we can take. I was hoping to be able to explore different classes to figure out my major.
Possible yes, probable for CS no.
It’s hard to know why any student is admitted through FPF. But say it loud and proud, “I got in to UC Berkeley!” If Berkeley is a top choice for you, I highly recommend going to Cal Day for admitted students. It is a huge, very impressive event. Make the effort to get up early that day and go to the early morning session at Memorial Stadium with the new Chancellor, my son and our family were so impressed. FPF and every other major, dept, club you can think of will have a table and you can ask them questions. A first semester student is probably only taking four classes. Students can take up to 5 units on main campus that are not FPF - that’s your ticket to explore! Take time to understand the L&S breadth requirements and all the other university requirements.
My sons favorite FPF class was Integrative Bio 33 - The Age of Dinosaurs with Bonnie Rauscher, he loved that class and professor.
My junior Golden Bear and his other 2 original FPF roommates are all doing great and graduating on time. My kid has had truly amazing experiences and opportunities at Cal.
I’d encourage you to move your Berkeley questions to the UC Berkeley Class of 2029 thread, where you will get more input.

My D24 and our family whole heartedly agree. Cal Day was impressive. We also attended admitted students day at USC which was really good too, but you kind of expect that at USC. Not necessarily at Cal being a public flagship school. But, it was a really great event. Go Bears!

Accepted L&S. Have ID, attended summer program. Cal central changed from Alumni Homepage to normal student page when I checked last Saturday.
