UC Berkeley 2025 Portal Astrology Discussion

Also does anybody know now why I can’t login on my computer. It still works on my phone though.

When does the source code astrology begin to work? Wouldn’t that clear things up?

Adding to the discussion on 3040 versus 3041. I firmly believe that the ID numbers are created chronologically (meaning each new ID is one number larger than the previous), and that ALL ID shown indicate acceptance. Here’s some posts from years prior:

Last year, someone in the 2024 thread said this: “I know an early admit with a 3039 and 3040 id number. The ID’s should not be the issue.”

People were speculating whether 3039 meant anything different from 3040. It didn’t matter, as everyone with an ID reported to be admitted.

March 2023, someone says: “I have not authorized + no access to withdrawal or SIS campus solution, but CAS gave me my ID (starts 3039). Why would rejected people have a calnet ID? it doesn’t make sense”

Once again, a year prior, 3039 seemed to be the common ID number.

Someone else on the 2024 thread said this: “It’s a lot of digits indeed, but it includes everyone (undergrad, grad, concurrent enrollment, summer)… My son’s number is vintage 2022 and starts with 3038…”

AND

“Adding to this here without really knowing what the rationale is - S22 EECS has an ID starting 3037.”

In 2022, ID numbers were both 3037 and 3038.

So based off of this, I think it’s safe to assume that the difference between a 3040 and a 3041 could simply be the fact that the 3040999999th ID was created this year, as was the 3041000000th ID… leading into the IDs that followed. I do not think that 3041 indicates waitlist because of this.

This literally makes sense according to the logic of the post with a bunch of quotes. The post said that in 2022 someone had a 3037 and a 3038 and someone in 2023 had a 3039. So for them to say someone in 2023 had a 3038 also makes sense.

It sounds like a bunch of people just coping that their kids didn’t get logged in while people with lower GPAs did. The 3040 versus 3041 seems normal based on the prior years’ trends of ID numbers increasing so I do think that because it has always indicated acceptance, it should be no different this year

ID == admitted, period, no need for anymore discussion.

I don’t think they are creating ID’s for those who are waitlisted to be honest. An average of 10000 get waitlisted every year. Too many to create. Everyone who got an ID here has great applications since its College Confidential, all the students with mediocre applications wouldn’t be doing all of this astrology stuff. This is probably why more people than what the true acceptance rate got ID’s here. I wrote this like 4 hours ago but nice to see we came to a conclusion. Just praying that this is true.

What day is UC berkely coming out and what time do they usually release.

based on the last 6 WHOLE YEARS i would say that we’re fine. Think about it berkeley itself created a unique ID for us. It’s always for accepted students only. So if you have an ID we made it. This conversation is gonna pop up again cause people don’t wanna scroll up and see the first thing that pops up. so give it a day and we’ll be going back and forth about this. But just know, people with an ID, that you’re in. End of statement

Does applying to a program like ATDP count as doing a Berkeley program? Im rlly confused because I can login but I applied for ATDP so Im wondering if this confounded my portal decision.

I did not check the portal until yesterday so I have no idea if I could login earlier.

So.. the number displayed under name called the the student ID, displayed on your CalCentral profile page, is assigned by the campus Student Information System (Campus Solutions).

What I could gather from the publicly available info on the UCB site is:

“For regular undergraduate and graduate students, CalNet pulls data into LDAP when students are admitted and before they have returned their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). These records are held in a “pre-SIR” container in LDAP until students have returned the SIR.”

For populating the data it is pulled from the following sources for the data in question: For the preSIR population, the data proprietor is Dean of Undergraduate Admissions OR Director of Graduate Admissions and the authoritative source is SIS.

For Student data, including all graduate students, population, the data proprietor is Office of the Registrar and the authoritative source is SIS.

CalNet data is displayed in CalCentral.

Based on last year, when can we expect them to stop updating the campus solutions id thing?
