UC Berkeley 2025 Portal Astrology Discussion

wait so ur saying it doesnt work?

Why did some people report seeing an ID in the 2024 thread but were waitlisted? Anyone figure that out?

i"m gonna respond to both of hte posts above this. I think it’s because some people went for a summer program before or did classes there like Xyz6 did. So because of that they already had accounts pre-made for those summer programs. So if you’ve never taken a berkeley class or summer program before, then this method would work.

It’s kind of foolproof if you think about it. Berkeley creates your unique ID only for accepted students and some other person from above found in the data that it is only given to admitted students without an SIR (Statement of Intent to Register). So if you have an ID and it’s the same as before ( another program you applied to) then this method completely won’t work. It’s only for people who are applying into the berkeley system for the first time. Then this method is essentially a foolproof way. If this is not your first time applying to anything berkeley related (i.e. you applied to a summer program or course there before) then you’re just gonna have to wait till thursday like the rest of us.

thank you!! great info. just wondering if I registered for the fall program zoom meeting thing (also the study abroad zoom) could that give me an ID? i really don’t think so but it’s just a zoom

guys. I had a “unauthorized” in calnet but i could log in that campus solution stuff with my first name and id top right. does that indicate anything about my decision?

the unauth/forbidden stuff got patched this year, just the id should indicate acceptance!

Is anyone seeing updates to their astrology right now?
Like it wasn’t allowing them to login previously, but now they can. Maybe they upload decisions over the entire weekend???

Lol, for sure not. Zoom is a completely different app and it just used your email. the data for the calnet is given directly by the dean of undergraduate admissions. Also they’re not making an entire calnet account because you signed up for a zoom meeting that anyone could lmao. Cause then everyone would have an account which they obviously don’t. So congrats I would say you’re in!

Is this method 100% bulletproof? I don’t want to get my hopes high cus I’m international and don’t have the best stats or EC. Seems like most ppl on this thread got their IDs too

idk why I have a feeling those who are not able to enter the campus sis thingy to get their ids aren’t doing it correctly, cuz if I leave the tab open for to long and reclick on the same tab and log in, it says some ■■■■ like not able to login, even if I look it up it won’t let me log in, but when I specifically log in from the links posted here or reddit, it works every time and I see my id. make sure u guys are checking from the links in reddit and here and logging in with ur MAP@BERKELEY log in and not the caltnet because we dont have that yet.

yeah its because of timeout and it is completely normal, you just have to use the link again to get in. Happens to everyone

hoping this isn’t the last of it! especially since i’ve been seeing no CED or Engineering Science Program applicants with the ID so far (might have to do with the already little amount applying in the first place though), i’ve been thinking if it has something to do with department or major [more niche majors get released later]? we’ll see in the next few days though, and there’s always a chance leading up to the decision!

Does anyone know of anyone in the past who has been issued an ID number and was later rejected? Has anyone heard of this happening or did anyone see this in the forums on past year’s posts? When I read past years PA it clearly says if you had an ID, you recevied an acceptance. I just don’t understand how this can be a “thing” for so many years and mean something else this year. In recent years, an ID resulted in the outcome of being accepted. They may be finally patching this? Why would they go through the process of making that many ID’s? Would be a cruel move to mislead everyone by creating one for every one and removing the rejections later simply to patch things. Patience
I know. Still. This has been a tough year for so many. Any sign a this point is everything.

i got in w/ an engineering science (or at least its my first choice
) but I do think they might still be releasing decisions

oh has the id thingy been working for COE? are you sure?

I think you answered your own question! They wouldn’t make IDs for every single person who they applied. and these IDs are for their calcentral system which through public data is known to be an account associated only with accepted students. So similarly to last year, this year the IDs give conclusive evidence of an acceptance.

Obviously everyone is going to have doubts and questions about their own respective situations, but it is essentially an acceptance if you see that. Because they always load in most decisions right after UCLA and maybe (allegedly) trickle in some more acceptances throughout the week for more niche programs (again allegedly).

And if you’re also thinking that there are too many IDs you’re seeing it’s because of the 14,000 people most likely accepted. the real hardcore die hard people would be here or on reddit. So don’t freak out, think of it as just another college decision and start moving on now. Berkeley does not make CalCentral accounts and ID numbers for (a lack of better words) random applicants especially as the public berkeley websites show that the dean of undergraduate admissions supplies the data to make those accounts.

And for my friends with an ID, we know it’s a good sign and we’ve been told it’s a 100 percent rate of success but we should always be wary as usual about things. But think of it as a likely letter of some sorts. For us, thursday this week (or friday depending on where you are) is going to be a great day!
