“For regular undergraduate and graduate students, CalNet pulls data into LDAP when students are admitted and before they have returned their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). These records are held in a “pre-SIR” container in LDAP until students have returned the SIR.”
Put it in Google you can find the source link.
If y’all care to read it basically confirms the myth and tells you waitlisted don’t get the ID.
I was wondering this too…..but isn’t the waitlist over 10,000 students are they really going to create an additional 10,000 plus IDs? I’m not sure what the id even means or campus solutions and I was questioning if everyone gets assigned an ID similar to what SLO does but we just done see it unless decisions are uploaded but then that would mean everyone would see the id and not everjone can.
I was also wondering if the waitlist is ranked? Like could it be that higher students were given ids?
I scrolled up to see where the waitlist theory started but we debunked the different numbers theory because current student have a different 4th number by 1 and they were initial admits.
Soooooooooo I don’t know if waitlists got numbers but with the poll question on here….you can answer it multiple times and the issue with it is people are probably doing that to see the results.
S25 also has got into all other 8 UCs so far - and has a student ID showing up here.
However he did work with Cal last summer, so we are cautiously optimistic for Thursday.
Also he is seeing a 3040 number and his friend who got regents in February has a 3041 number, which has us worried if his ID is just a carryover from last summer.
I was trying to get clarification above, but realize that posters who may be able to answer are limited to once per hour in this thread right now, so you may need to be patient. It appears to me that this happens:
(3) you click a link that says “Sign In with MAP@Berkeley ID.”
(4) if it then tells you “account not created” , you are not in. If it gives you a screen that has your name and a student ID number in the upper right corner, you are in.
I may be mistaken (and I don’t have a portal to play with myself), so I look forward to confirmation from posters in the know.
if regents have a 3041 number according to poster above, how could recent admits after regents be assigned a 3040 number and be confident this astrology is true? (This is for students who have not done summer program with cal.)
If you have ID then you got in. If you don’t then wait until thursday. It’s as simple as that. If you have any questions just scroll up in this discussion and it will likely be answered. This theory has been proven countless times and Berkeley wouldn’t go out their way just to trick people especially considering the fact that they admit around 14,000.
Someone in this thread above sent a picture of one of the form responses from last year, and the ratio of that was around 50-50.
Also, as people have been saying, creating a poll in this thread is bound to biased for two key reasons. First of all, people who got the ID would be more willing to respond to a poll, while most of those without an ID would’ve likely stopped checking this thread after multiple people said ID=acceptance and no account=waitlist/rejection. Second, I think we can agree that these forums in general are filled with a higher population of “high achieving” students, which is clearly not representative of berkeley’s actual applicant pool.
Yo can you try logging into Calcentral with the Cal Net ID Berkeley gave you (Not the MAP Login Info), and see what homepage you have? Do you see a standard student homepage or an Alumni homepage? Btw I did attend Berkeley summer sessions and I have the same ID as campus solutions
Someone please tell me if UCB is still uploading submissions, or are they already done?? There’s like 4 days left till admissions release day and I didn’t get an account since yesterday
