Not to be a downer here but just being realistic. You do realize that chances of getting rejected again is 97%? No need to worry too much about it. If you submitted your appeal by now then don’t think about it. I do not have hopes for my letter working unless I had 4.0 gpa and extraordinary circumstances.

real talk, at this point forward luck will play a huge role, as they probably will be selecting less than 10 students to reverse their decisions, and pretty sure you will find many others who are as compititive as you are in the appeal process.

@Harren yeah i know, ive already accepted the fact that my dream school is pretty much out of reach at this point, but ya never know, if my appeal is good enough and they room or something. anyways, ive pretty much moved on already; i mean im going to UCLA which is still an awesome school. if by some chance that my appeal is accepted then ill go freakin insane. but in the more probable outcome of rejection (especially cause my GPA is only ~3.7-3.8 and i don’t really have extraordinary circumstances) ill accept it and move on, cause i could at least say i gave it my absolute all.

@Harren yeah for sure, atleast someone here cause tbh you all have good letters imo
@anxiety dont worry!, june will be here in a flash, i mean just think about how you felt when you applied in October, and now its may! my advice is to focus on school, especially since finals are this week for me, then just enjoy your summer after 2 arduous years of work ya know? and whatever happens, happens. thats the main reason i didnt really tell anyone close to me, cause i had a feeling they would constantly ask and remind me about it, when i just want to forget about it and move on till the day comes.

@lindyk8 haha thanks! i can always hope!
@Anxiety94 aww dont worry! we’ll hear back eventually; also are you finished with school? if so then just relax and enjoy your summer! thankfully i just finished my last final this morning.

@imaplealot I wasn’t appealing, but I believe I read @bookham and @Anxiety94 didn’t get in (I hope I’m wrong!). I read a handful of appeals, and I know they say appeals are hard, but I thought they all really stood a chance, with really strong compelling reasons to reconsider. I guess when they say chances are slim, they really really mean it. Not sure where anxiety is going, but bookham is off to UCLA (my personal fave), so I hope he decides in a quarter or two that it all worked out for the best.

Your friend must have really had a great appeal. So far, that’s the only appeal I have heard that has been successful. That’s a huge accomplishment for him. B-)
