Does anyone know how to decline the offer in the web site? thanks
Wondering if anyone admitted is trying to decide between a LAC and CAL. What do you see as the educational and social advantages and disadvantages of going to CAL over a top tier LAC? The large classes and competition at Cal seem daunting. Cost of a LAC without any aid is daunting, but small classes seem more ideal. Cal name is impressive, but can a student with time management issues survive Cal?
@manning36 I’m with you! I’m choosing between Cal, Williams, and Cornell, and I am a California students, so it’s considerably cheaper than going to a private school. I don’t know about you, but I’m planning to go into law school after college, which is the sweet spot for why I want to go to Williams, but I haven’t made a decision yet
That’s close to half million dollars without any aid ($70,000 X 7 years).
It’s definitely something to think about.
Hi Spicykins, I’m actually the Mom, but happened to be an attorney who grew up in upstate NY near Cornell and live 8 miles from Cal. If I were in your place, and I could afford it, I would pick Williams, and then go for Stanford or other top law school. Just my two cents. Cal is beautiful and the Bay Area is great. We spent the day walking Cal yesterday, and my son is at the overnight now. I think he prefers the largeness and wants the research opportunities available at call, as he wants to go into biology, neuroscience or pre-med. For me at that age, Cal would have been too distracting and overwhelming, but everyone is different. Also, the small discussions and critical thinking in classes at Williams will prepare you well for law school. There is also something magical about a top LAC on the east coast, and you will likely never have a time like that in your life again. But, there are so many arguments to make in any direction. You have obviously worked incredibly hard and have wonderful choices, and I wish you the best!
Hey everyone! I’m interested in the mini-suite option and hopefully with Regent’s I will be able to get one next year My roommate and I were wondering if we can choose the people who live in the other room of the mini-suite? Does anyone know if the housing application accommodates this? Thanks!
anyone know if Berkeley has a groupme?

When will waitlist decisions come out?
@yoyohi Join our discussion at “UC Berkeley - Class of 2020 Waitlist”. Waitlist decisions come out by June 1st, so essentially May sometime. Go over to the other thread for more info.
What does LOR mean?
@sprinkle Letter of Recommendation, i think
Is it too late to SIR since it takes 24 hours to set up the email?
So I just got accepted for waitilist and have a few questions.
When is my SIR due by? Tonight still?
Is FPF the regular admission for Berkeley students
And my financial aid report is not out yet, any idea why?
@daeqsw it’s due may 9th, it should say that on your dashboard in CalCentral. FPF is an option for regular fall admission people and my financial aid report yet isn’t out yet either, so i have no idea. have you been able to set up a calnet id? mine keeps saying “forbidden” when i try to do it.
how do we know if we get into fpf for sure??? i signed up through cal central but I’m worried… just got off the waitlist btw.
lol nevermind literally just got an email confirming my registration ^^
@goomba123 how long after you registered for fpf did you get the confirmation email? My daughter accepted SIR and registered for fpf 30 min ago and the only email she received was the deposit receipt confirmation. Also, were you able to click on the create calnetid button and create your id? When she tries she repeatdely gets a “forbidden page” message.
To those that got January admission, but chose not to do FPF, do we need to apply for housing this week? I’m really confused about how that work since we won’t be there first semester.
When do they release decisions for International students who’re waitlisted? What are the odds for international kids especially?
