I got accepted without regents, but I did not expect to get accepted in the first place!
It’s really unpredictable! I got an invitation for regents at UCLA, but not UCB. While my friend did not get invited at UCLA, but did get invited by UCB.
hey guys, I am not quite sure about this situation. Do international students get regents? if not, how can us be accepted?is there any international students included in 2000 today? If I have missed some announcement, please let me know…congrats and thank you for sharing
Got Regents invite means got in? Or separate?
@hipflowers98, exactly the same for my S, got UCLA regents but not UCB.

Guys, check out the bottom of your acceptance letter. There are a set of letters below it. If you got invited to interview for Regents then one of the letters linked will be “R&C Scholarship Information.” There will also be two letters “Freshman Conditions of Admission” and “Freshman FAQ” that are likely given to all admits.
From this point on, the Berkeley admissions office will be flipping coins to see if we get in. “Heads we admit them, tails we reject. Oops, it landed on its side-waitlist.”
May the odds be ever in your favor and best of luck! Remember that there are many opportunities out there besides Berkeley, and there is nothing that can be done now but wait.
Accepted! FYI from a press release from Berkeley:
While most prospective freshmen will learn of their admissions decision March 24, up to 2,000 students will be informed of their acceptance to Berkeley on Feb. 12. This group of high-achieving students will include students selected to interview for Berkeley’s most prestigious scholarship, the Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholarship. The earlier notification will allow top students more time to explore the option of becoming a Berkeley student.
This means accepted students were among the top 2% of Berkeley applicants-- so, if you didn’t get in, don’t worry! There are many more acceptances from Berkeley to come!
Ok I am OOS. I received an email at 7 (Eastern Time) and accepted with invite to Reagants! Literally woke up from a four hour nap and saw the email. Did not know if the app was under review. There was no request to LORs. Congrats to all accepted and wishing the best for those still waiting!!! Don’t lose hope!!!
I got accepted!!
Although I didn’t get the invitation for the Regents’/Chancellor’s scholarship. OOS from New York, no LOR request.
I GOT ACCEPTED!!!
International, no LOR request, no invitation for scholarship.
BUT ACCEPTED
Ahh I got in and scholarship invitation!! CONGRATS EVERYONE!!
And to everyone who didn’t hear anything back today, DON’T LOSE HOPE!! I KNOW YOU ARE ALL AMAZING!
CONGRATS EVERYONE! Current freshman here (so jealous that y’all got the decisions early, last year they were released soooo late on the announced date) Anyways, I’m happy to answer any questions you all have about Cal! Make sure you join the facebook group too (I’m on the one named “UC Berkeley - Class of 2020 (Official Group)” with a orange cover image, that one is a student-run group so it’s actually useful). Go bears!

So I was really hoping to get a decision today from Berkeley but instead I got an acceptance from the school that I applied ED2. I really want to find out if I can get it to Berkeley so I’m planning on not withdrawing my application yet. Is this allowed?
The school that I got accepted to is a LAC in Maine btw.
@calstitch withdraw your application so someone else can take your place, it would be a really inconsiderate thing to do to keep your application in the pool
@crossovercuber @calstitch It wouldn’t really matter since a waitlisted student will take his (or her) place anyways. If Berkeley didn’t do waitlists then it would be inconsiderate.
