@Justwell Is is the Achievement award or is it called Leadership Award? I got the email about the Achievement Award Program.
I got one from the leadership award
I got a leadership one
@justswell Yes everyone gets it
@gwastaken Huh, that’s the first time I’ve heard that.
I know that UCB doesn’t look at major in the CoL&S, but if I applied under a less common major (Spanish) and have a strong passion for it and have lots of ECs relating to Spanish, will that help me in any way? My second UC essay was about Spanish too.
I sent my application to UCB in November. Early December they requested my LORs. Uploaded right away. Got my acceptance mid January and later invited to the Regents’ and Chancellor’s. The professor that interviewed me last week said that the letters that go out in early January are for those that will “likely” have a chance of getting the R&C Scholarship. But acceptances letter can go all they way to 3/31. If you really want to go to UCB does it matter whether you get your letter in Jan or Apr? Good luck to everyone that really want to attend UCB.
What do u guys think is the coolest thing about Uc Berkeley? I have never visited
i visited the campus last summer with my daughter - it felt very unpretentious unlike the ivies but yet it is clear that it has matching academic standards, the location is phenomenal - it feels not too genteel (pomona) and not too dingy (USC). there was a beautiful vista of the SF bay from a vantage point. there were special parking spots for its nobel laureates - thats cool! the 4.0 hill, the seal you should never walk over (i blundered along on it while on the phone with my broker to the horror of my daughter) - it just felt genuine.
What are my chances?

@Kasami @cf9882 @10s4life I was just inserted Berkley’s name, but I was talking about getting emails from other UC schools. I haven’t received a message directly from Berkley in a while.
@ jindaltanya I have lower results on SAT and Subject Test than you, and I got in! So don’t worry about these scores.
When did you get in? @Dan786
@jindaltanya I was accepted on Feb 12.
Oh thats great. Congratulations
Attended the Cal ROHP and it was great even with the lousy weather. I also had my interview and it lasted approximately 30 minutes. The professor focused on my essays and technical knowledge. Overall it was worth it!
I got invited to send letters of recommendation a few month ago. Does anyone know what this actually means?
@10s4life that makes sense. My ACT is a 33 (around 2200) but my gpa is a low weighted 4.0 (around 4.15)
I haven’t gotten any emails besides the one about the alumni scholarships, and I’m an in state student. Is that a bad sign? I also got the email about the Lors but didn’t upload one.
@10s4life - your theory is not so plausible as you say. I know someone in Southern CA with a 4.8 and 2320 who was also a requestee (she has the whole package as well). She got in early January and had her interview for the R&C Scholarship in San Diego a few weeks back. It would make more sense that the LORs were to make her case for the R&C more stronger? Hope it helps.
