***UC Berkeley Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion***

@Desiree2
Thank you for reply.
As I checked my high school stat. My school had 8/20 people got accepted to Berkeley last year, while no one got into UCLA.

7 of 8 accepted from daughter’s OOS HS. UCLA & UCB only till 2015

29 out of 115, instate.

@cuhopeful16 The same happened to me and right now, I just really really really hope I get it. Was rejected from UCLA so I’m really hoping its good news but I can’t stand the wait

@hiddenfalls congratulations, I applied UCLA physics too but I was rejected :’(

Do i have any chance of getting into Berkeley if I was rejected from UCLA? I was waitlisted at UCSD but was a top applicant at UCSB and honors at UCI. I know it’s coming out in a few days but I just need to mentally prepare myself if there’s no hope

@Mimidj If you google “rejected UCLA accepted Berkeley” you will find many results that come up. It seems it is fairly common to get into one of the schools and not the other (get into UCLA and not UCB or get into UCB and not UCLA). Don’t lose hope yet! (Though I was rejected from UCLA and I’ve already lost hope lol)

Is there any truth to the either Berkeley or UCLA but not both saying? Does getting into 1 affect your chances of getting into the other?

I definitely want Cal but my UCLA acceptance makes me feel a lot better. I at least know I’m going to one of the two elite UC’s.

I want to be a chicken when I grow up

Ugh I got into UCLA but I want Cal so so so much more

@emilyskates Same! Cal is after all basically a public ivy league… Good luck to you!

OMG THE ACCEPTANCE RATE FOR INDIANS IS JUST 6.6% :’(

@McKilla99 I wonder what it is for asians, african americans, and hispanics?

@hiddenfalls :’) my hopes for Berkeley just took a nosedive.

@emilyskates I got into UCLA and I want Cal more too but I wasn’t expecting to get into Cal or UCLA. I at least know that I got into one of my two reach schools.

What is a good UC GPA to have for OOS for Cal?

48/87 for my school but I feel it’s because we’re like 15 minutes away from UCR and we have a lot of ties with them.

@DynamicProphet Well anything higher than 4.1 qualifies you for honours program…oops that’s for UCLA

@DynamicProphet Okay the average GPA for UC Berkeley is 4.19, so maybe 4.2+ is good?
