Yeah last year I knew 2 people who got into cal not ucla, and a guy who got into ucla and not cal… so weird
I applied under undeclared for pre-biz ahh
@FlyingLark: No truth in the rumor. I have been accepted to Berkeley EECS (early admit - 2/12) and last week was admitted to UCLA Comp Sci (Regents). Congrats on UCLA!
Some interesting stats for EECS and L&S applicants:
http://rkwan.me/blog/ucb-eecs-lscs-admissions
This has probably already been discussed, but which is harder to get into EECS or CS through L&S?
@napkinsAreUs I think that answers my question!
@Momobear EECS is harder
I just got rejected by UCSB after being accepted to UCSD and UCLA for the same major (mechanical engineering)! How could this happen?
@CalDude2020 Perhaps UCSB have very good ME major and has a low acceptance rate for ME. If it is not that, then I need more info on your stats.
@CalDude2020 Same! Who cares though… Would one really want to go to UCSB when they got accepted to UCSD and LA?? Of course not. Their loss.
@CalDude2020 all UCs (especially Davis, SD, Berk, LA, and SB) look for different qualities in their applicants.
Also praying I get in here now that I got into UCSB w/ honors, unfortunately I got waitlisted by UCLA. Hoping my good ECs, essays, and test scores will help me out. GPA… not so much.
@Desiree2 Well its overall engineering acceptance rate is about 20 percent, while the acceptance rates of ME in UCLA and UCSD are in the 10-15% area. My stats are above average for UCSB I guess (3.93 UW- 2080 SAT) and I’m OOS. What I suspect set me apart is my essay though. Maybe UCSB does not give much importance to it?
@CalDude2020 @IBGuy101 The point is moot. You got into UCLA which is a better school all around. Congrats!
Kinda worried about UCSD atm. They offered me 17k a year so I need to pay the rest 13k (54K for all for years). That is hella expensive even for a CS major. Praying for a miracle rn.
Is Berkeley in California?
Berkeley is in fact in California
I mean, it’s not like it has “University of California” in its name or anything
@IBGuy101 Um, 52k, not 54. Even if you get into UCB, dont u still pay the same?
@SkillStreaks I thought UC meant University of Colorado.
@Desiree2 I meant a financial aid miracle. Idk yet though. lots of things can change.
