***UC Berkeley Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion***

I JUST CAN’T. LIKE I LITERALLY CANNOT.

I know a guy who got rejected by Davis, waitlisted by UCLA, and got into EECS at Berkeley. He also got into Georgia Tech.

I got accepted into UCSD, UC Davis, UCSC, UCSB, and got rejected from UCLA. Do you guys think i have a chance of getting into UC Berkeley?

Is Cal going to release RCSA at the same time? And will they only post an update for those who got the award, or for everyone? If anyone can answer it’d be awesome.

I think rejections from others UCs don’t matter. It’s not that you will get into Cal if you got into UCLA. Or, if you got rejected from Santa Cruz you still have shot at Cal.
Every UC is different, and looking for certain parameters and qualities. That said, you have to be qualified anyway.

I know someone who was accepted into UCB and UCLA and UCSD.

@kebbabb I think you have a chance! There are a lot of people rejected at the other UC’s that get into Berkeley. There’s really no sure way to tell. And you’re not automatically counted out if you’re rejected by another UC.

I got accepted at UC Davis and UCSD but got waitlisted at UCLA, so I’m hoping on Berkeley, but I’m not expecting much.

Hey guys, I made an account just to ask this question: can UC schools see if you’ve been admitted to another UC school and make a decision based on that? I heard some people say this somewhere on this discussion, and I’m just trying to figure out why some exceptional applicants get rejected UCLA and accepted Berkeley. Thanks!

@canadianguy123 no they cannot

@Bluebrry thanks. Not so hopeful anymore for Berkeley :(. Got rejected LA

Again, being rejected by UCLA DOES NOT mean you’ll be rejected by Cal.

True, I saw tons of people rejected LA but accepted Cal in past discussionsl. But, I’m just not too hopeful after all those rejections ya know :frowning:

@canadianguy123 often, the reason colleges reject great applicants is because they assume they’ll go to a much more prestigious school and won’t come to their school. So they reject them, to make them appear more selective and increase their yield, as they give that spot to someone who is much less qualified and as a result is much more likely to attend.

makes sense. Never thought of it that way. Btw, do you think an SAT of 2110 is low for EECS at Cal?

@smartypants57 ^ true

Acceptions/rejections at other UC schools are not necessarily indicative of Berkeley’s admission decision. Lol at people asking people to chance them – Berkeley has already made their decision and you all will get the most accurate “chance me!” by the end of tonight

@mollikinz scary how you put it

I’m scared. Do I stand a chance?

@Bluebrry it is scary but it’s true. I’m in the same boat. Cal is my top choice and this is the last admissions decision I’ll hear. Despite the outcome, I know that their minds are already made up and there’s nothing I can do to change them now

Chance me?
