Did ANYONE get ANY notifications asking for letters of recommendation yet?
@vtanboy29 I did, and I’m pretty sure I am not a borderline applicant.
@johnlimster My case is strange. They initially send me a request in December, I uploaded the letters and everything but now on the portal it says that our records do not indicate that you were requested for the letters of recommendation. I have no idea why this could have happened :-/
I received one on 1/3/2017. I think I’m very borderline. Does anyone know if this affects chances for Regents?
Am I at a disadvantage if I haven’t received an LOR request?
@ED1998 If you watch the lengthy video, the LOR requests are primarily sent automatically to people who are in the “maybe” zone by GPA and scores. If you are in the “probably yes” zone, you would likely not get a LOR request.

Did anyone who got the Regents invitation get asked to submit a LOR? I didn’t notice any on this or the other threads. The video indicates that few Regents candidates would have gotten a LOR request last year, so likely the same this year.
@Ynotgo I got a regents invite and a LOR request.
My stats:- 1500/1600 (New SAT)
SAT Subject Tests:-
Phy:- 800
chem:- 800
Math 2 :- 800 (and a 760)
AP:- 5 on 5 AP’s (unfortunately being in India my classes aren’t AP classes so my W and UW GPA would be the same) (Subs:- CALC, PHYC,PHY1&2,CHEM)
Major:- Planetary Science
I don’t have a clear GPA… I’m a US Citizen so that makes me OOS but I go to school in India where we dont follow a GPA system)
I have straight A’s in 9th 10th and 12th Grade
But due to an insanely difficult internal grading system in 11th Grade 88.2% was my final score in 11th Grade.
Just on these stats alone what do you think my chances would be?
Accepted to USC with minimum of 1/2 tuition and Berkeley with interview for Chancellor’s scholarship. Which would you lean towards? BTW chemical engineering major.

Just a heads up, the letters are sent to a chunk of students (from what I’ve been told, just because they wan’t more information on them). People last year got in that were asked for letters and that weren’t, so don’t worry!
