UC Berkeley - Class of 2022 Applicants Thread

Today is THE DAY

@RandallMRS I know :frowning:
We so dead looool

I got rejected from every ivy league I applied too, so expecting another big fat L :frowning:

@palaksh r u staying up or in another country? I’m in China now so actually I will wake up to an admission result…

I’m so confused. On which date and time are the decisions estimated to come out?

Soooooo…because I’m on my Spring Break I made a very bad decision to wash my hair at 11pm and now I am left crawling around cc. I am so nervous!!! Probably gonna go do some Spring Break AP Lit killer hw

Took an L from all 6 Ivy’s I applied to and was rejected from UCLA. Got into NYU and USC, and also got the email on Sunday. Berkeley has always been my number one though.

@Dovahkiin012200 May I ask what were your stats? I got rejected by USC and UCLA and waitlisted by NYU. I did not get the email (but it could be because I don’t qualify for any aid), so I would like to get an “emotional preparation.”

@antwaine No, I didn’t get the email, but I also didn’t qualify for financial aid in any of the other schools I’ve been accepted to, so maybe that’s why? I’m not really sure, but I guess we’ll see haha

SAT is not an intelligence measuring test. It is knowledge test. And it is really interesting how so many kids with straight A’s in high school they cannot score more than 1300 in SAT. And it is more interesting the colleges are emphasizing on GPA’s that are achieved under “non controlled” conditions, instead of SAT that it is achieved under fully controlled conditions. If you compare SAT with University entrance exams in Europe and Asia it is ridiculously easy! So I cannot understand the complains of straight 4.0 students in US who fail SAT. And if they don’t prepare you for SAT at your school there are plenty free online courses in internet (ie khan academy) and very cheap preparation books (cheaper that one movie ticket without the pop-corn)!

@Kentriko I would not necessarily say that the SAT is a knowledge test because it essentially does not test anything beyond the basic stuff that a high school student should know before graduating (reading & interpreting, proper grammar, algebra). I would say that the SAT is more like a logic and reaction speed test, as most questions ask test-takers to read, interpret for meaning, reason for the best answer choice (English part) and simplify the questions to solve (math part). And I agree with you, the key for success in the SAT is mainly to practice, and try not to be overly anxious during the test.

I wouldn’t say I am the best SAT taker, but I ended up with a 1420 even though I have pretty bad gastritis attacks when I get nervous.

@Dovahkiin012200 Its crazy, i have twins DD1, rejected from UCLA, accepted to USC and NYU also, but got accepted to 2 Ivys’s out of 3 today. DD2 got into UCLA, 4 Ivy’s out of 5 today, and both got into several other schools. BOTH got the email Sunday, so I cant wait to see, just like you if Berkeley completed screwed up or if you all got in. I will say we spoke with a friend of theirs tonight who is a freshman at Smith, and she said last year she got a financial aid email 2 days before decisions came out as well, and she got in. So there is that.

what time are they coming out?

okay guys, if you or your DD/D/S made ivies today why are you STILL commenting on this thread. go out and celebrate you don’t need to worry about Berkeley?! For everybody else that genuinely wants to go to Berkeley and isn’t here just to flex, GOOD LUCK TOMORROW! - Sincerely, one anxious teen

@RandallMRS I live in India… I will wake up early morning to check my decision cuz I will be damn nervous!

Just because someone gets into an Ivy doesnt mean UCB isnt their dream school

@myfavoritepet EXACT SAME SITUATION HERE OMG

@Twinmomhell where do you DDs really want to go? Congrats on all their acceptances. I know you must be proud. Hope they get into their number number choice.

whoa, now I’m seeing the four addresses thing.

We had four for the last few days. This morning they are down to two. Oh well!
