where do u have access to financial aid
GOT IN AND I GOT THE EMAIL ON SUNDAY, had two addresses, and got asked for LORs.
yes, @security18 i believe all applicants received that email
Just an observation, why is it when someone boasts on many many acceptances for their child, are they then afraid to answer a simple question on whether their child was a URM, legacy, 1st gen college student. These kinds of things help us all. I’m looking at you @twinmomhell Many are very upfront with their acceptances, denials and any information. It all helps.
.
@10s4life so your sister got in to Cal? Awesome!!!
for those of you who mentioned you were able to view your financial aid, where on the portal?
Son accepted. College of L&S Computer Science.
UC weighted GPA 4.47
SAT 1490, ACT 35 one sitting
Baseball all 4 years, Community Service, lots of other EC and internship at tech company last summer.
@LvMyKids2 Its NONE of your or anyones business. My kids worked hard and have persevered and it showed in their acceptances end of story. Your question diminishes their accomplishments as if they’d have to have SOME hook to get into so many great schools. Stay in your own lane.
@meb1meb1 Haha yes my parents are really surprised. She was ready to sir to davis last night. How did your kid do?
thanks for the helpful waitlist stats!
@YoungOne4 awww man! You’ve always been so kind, positive and encouraging on here and I’m sure your son is also an amazing boy…hopefully with options he loves or will grow to love with time. My son got waitlisted. Not quite sure what to make of it or where he will go now…but hes remaining the optimistic kid he’s always been and I’m glad. Best of luck on deciding! Did he by any chance get into Davis?
@twinmomhell we have our answer. You are too defensive. Most people on here on official boards list stats, ECs, ethnicity, and hooks…You are just hiding. It does NOT dimish anything, but shows diversity and what the schools are doing to make it a better place. Go ahead look at the “results” pages for any of the schools that have decisions and 99.9 percent of people fill that part out. It is easy to see that yes, your twins had hooks. Thank you!!!
@Twinmomhell Don’t know what you’re doing posting on cc if you’re not willing to share such simple info that is helpful to other future applicants. It DOES matter whether your kids were legacy/first gen/minority/etc. and they very well may not have gotten into these schools without those hooks. Or maybe they would have. That’s besides the point.
@sophie052900 it is friendly. It is just ashame that simple questions - that are on the college confidential results form - can’t be answered. Go ahead and look and most people are proud to answer all questions, even about financial aid. That is what makes the good ole USA a great place to be. People of all sorts. If you are going to boast about acceptances, the least one can do it be honest in their data. That was all
@twinmomhell
Congrats to your kids! I saw your reply to LvMyKids2, and I believe both of you have merit in your posts. However, considering you’ve got almost an “inside look” to Berkeley’s acceptance tendencies, would you mind giving any sort of advice based on your experiences? Any help is greatly welcome and appreciated!
@Onyxi7 I whole heartedly agree with you. I am not stupid that a college builds their classes around all sorts of people. Many have hooks - even athletes - and they have worked incredibly hard too. It’s life. I think what bothers me the most are all the posts in all the threads about this and that acceptance, but not willing to share. Of course they are smart and involved, but knowing the other pieces helps everyone too. It isn’t an attack on anyone or dimishing anything.
