AP scores only matter if you are counting on the college course credit.
@Gumbymom ! I’m torn between UCD and UCB! I One reason I see myself attending UCD is because, like your son, I can picture myself happy there (I’ve attended a TAP event that lasted 3 days and loved the school and the community). But yesterday I’ve got the admission offer from Berkeley and now I’m really lost. I plan on attending Berkeley’s transfer day and see if I like it there, but it really feels like a bittersweet choice.
PS: When I first registered in this site I was completely lost trying to apply for UC Merced and you pointed me to the right direction (I’m so glad I withdrew my application back then, otherwise I wouldn’t have gotten into UCD and UCB at all!). You’re an asset to this site! Hands down the best online counselor I’ve encountered here!
@smsk: Thank you for your confidence in my abilities. My son’s decision came down what he thought would be the best fit.
Academically he felt all the UC’s were on par, finances were the same (full pay regardless) so the campus feel and the major were the most important to him. I am not saying UCD was a breeze since he did have a difficult Freshman year, but overall his experience was great. His only regret is that it ended after 4 years and he been
trying very hard to find a permanent job in the area. He is also considering Graduate school at UCD after working a few years in his field.
I am sure which ever school you chose you will do well. Best of luck.
@Gumbymom @coolweather Hi! Just wanted to bring you up to speed: I aced my last term of Physics( half of it is the material i got a D+ on) bringing up my total physics average to an A-. I’m going to inform the admissions office about everything, and I just wanted to get your personal opinion on it. Do you think they’ll understand? The reason i got the D was due to personal circumstances and i proved that i have mastery of the material by acing the full term.
If you a good reason then hopefully everything will be ok. Best of luck.
