I understand that California community college students have priority in transfer admissions. If a California community college student also takes online classes through UC Berkeley Extension, will that decrease his/her chances of being admitted to UC Berkeley as a transfer student?

Also, I have read that students with excessive units will not be admitted unless all of their units come from community college credits. If a student has excess units with a combination of community college and lower division UC Berkeley Extension credits, is this looked upon the same as having excessive units from community college (which does not hurt chances of admission), or is this looked upon as excessive units that will decrease the chances of transfer admission?

I read on the UC Berkeley website that lower division excess units do not impede admission whether or not they are from community college but had read elsewhere that any non-community college units (whether lower or upper division) that result in excess units will decrease admission chances.

Thank you.
