I was reading the 2019 past thread and there were comments too about how more people chose ucla over cal so there should be more room. Also I heard about a new bill that JUST passed called the ACA 5? It is something racial quota related so who knows if that is affecting anything right now.

If they are already accepting for Spring 2021 thatâs bad news generally means that fall 2020 admits are fullâŠ
@pzl233p oh damn I thought I saw it on one of the previous replies but it didnât explicitly say that those who got in werenât first wave. I was looking at the comment about the rep that said that single people and groups might get acceptances at a time and thought that meant that those who did didnât indicate a wave. Oof at UCB being impossible.
Btw can anyone clarify what the 4 address glitch/ FAQ glitch is? I want to keep an eye out for it but I donât know what they are.
4 address glitch is there will be 4 address appearing on your application portal, FAQ glitch is that your Decision FAQ will be changed into Admission FAQ.
To clarify 4 address glitch dosent actually mean anything while FAQ always indicates admissions.
Also piggybacking on @FHOGHO123 post, I saw this letter from someone who got off the waitlist on Reddit. They got in only for spring 2021 and was wondering why.
It says on the form âBerkeley will be only approving VERY FEW students to join us at this time, this is strictly a request and if not approved, you will be directed to choose the other option, or may need to consider withdrawing.â However, I was never offered any other pathway to begin with. So are you sure itâs 100% guaranteed, because that would give me a lot of peace of mind.
To clarify, they were asking about their own guarantee of admission since they were worried about the wording of this email despite being admitted off.
is there a screenshot of this email anywhere? the verbiage sounds odd.
I legit lost brain cells reading that letter⊠I am surprised though. They said all decisions are gonna be out by the end of June⊠so if they are full and are âapproving very few studentsâ - what are the waiting forâŠ?

Honestly truly best of luck to everyone here. With all the craziness in this world right now (and those awful allegations coming into light this week at Berk), everyone could use a bit of positivity so hopefully Berk will give you all the decision that you want.

I just found that Reddit post and I am 99.99% sure that the guy is a freshman applicant. Which in theory would not have any bearing over admissions for us? Pretty sure they overenrolled freshman wise my local high school smashed the record for the most students they have ever sent to Cal. It talks about freshman pathways.

Thank you for sharing! When I saw the previous posts here about the offers for admission for spring 2021, I completely lost my hope. I also changed my perspective, meaning that even if I donât get into Berkeley, I am still going to get a degree from SF state eventually and this does not stop me to keep studying on my own. I see many brilliant and special people here, and just wanted you to know that you all deserve to get in, but if you/ we donât get in it doesnât mean you/ we are not worthy!!! Keep your heads up! You will achieve amazing results no matter what! Best of luck to everyone!!!
Well I guess they are still not sure about the number of people they are going pull off from the waitlist since I heard that their way of instructions for Fall 2020 wonât be finalized until June 15th. And I believe this assumption could explain why they released their first wave on Tuesday instead of doing so on Fridays as usual. Because a week after that day which is June 16th, they would be sure about the size of the class.
Just my personal assumptions. What do you guys think?
