I think it matters on the announcement on Jun 15th if on campus they will take less and possibly no one-off waitlist especially for fall due to social distancing guidelines to keep the campus open. Unfortunately, itās a business they will lose more on keeping the campus closed then under enrolling for Class of '22 especially since they overenrolled '24 since it was a month earlier. They will limit capacity for nearly everything and they would rather gain some revenue from keeping campus open then from accepting a bunch more ppl and losing out on campus-based revenue
So we wont know till June 16 right? Its so tiring

Yes but UCLA and Cal may adopt separate ways of handling the situation. For example, UCLA may anticipate a second wave of Covid-19 and know the classes will end up online anyways and they could put out something revoking the promise of housing(if there is one idk if there is). Cal may just say hey let us take a hit in Class of '22 so we can quote stats that we intended to lessen the possible damage and to allow for the safety of students and staff idk. This is EXTREMELY odd less than a handful of students have seemed to get in with the majority getting in for Spring 2021
Man nothing is more tilting than checking on the ucla thread and see them having a new wave every 3 days rofl. If there is no wave this tuesday then that just tells you everything imo. Really wish I was on the ucla waitlist instead.
Also they are doing hybrid but a lot of people already enrolled say unless you have labs or something, normal classes will mostly be online anyways. Calās biggest classes have lost many TAs the past semester I hear so that probably have reduced their capacity to hold more students. Well regardless its often been commented that specific courses were overloaded beyond comprehension in the first place already.
Canāt underestimate that many students are sick of being at home and would rather get Corona than keep at it any longer.
when will they update info? The #of wl admission is much smaller than 2018ā¦While for 2018, they didnt have a second wave but hung all the rest students till July 1st and automatically dropped all at that time
Someone (not a UCB rep) wrote in the admission chat, that classes announcement was pushed from June 15 to June 22. I guess thatās the reason why we didnāt hear anything today, and will probably not till the next Monday.
