Pls God I need a place to stay rather than being a homeless…
But I got a bad news that a grl on live chat said there were some waves on June around 4pm and 6pm. So we may have missed the major waves and the admitted guys just didnt show up on this thread. I heard similar statements from a schoolmate yesterday that ppl kept joining new students group chat during last month. I thought there werent big waves so far is what I heard from my cc and de anza but this seems not correct
@givmethemail uhh did you mean to post a date in June?
I think its gonna be either later this afternoon or tmr coz they gonna have live chat tmr moring.
I don’t see live chat tomorrow morning. It says Jul 16th: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm EDT
they said see you tmr at 9 am in the end
Let us hope for the best
at this rate they arent gonna tell us till mid-august my god
especially if we only can get admitted for spring, they probably arent in a rush to get us is far ahead of the start of fall semester… so they might wait right up to first day of classes to decide so they can get the most accurate idea of how many people are deferring for the year.
I agree with you. Our transfers need some courses to declare major.
PLEASE look at this guys
"A number of students expressed interest in deferring their admission for a year; for freshmen, that number almost doubled this year. Transfer student requests for deferment had no notable increase. The campus has been reviewing such requests on a case-by-case basis and granted about 75% of freshman deferment requests.
It will be late summer before UC Berkeley officials know how many students who accepted admission offers will enroll. For now, it looks promising, with officials anticipating no more than a minor drop in anticipated new student enrollment."
Highly suggest reading the entire article. They accepted 15,435 total despite usually only accepting around 14500. So yes, they initially took in much more students.
Also there is this
""Unfortunately, we are confronting challenges posed by the pandemic with a weak financial foundation due to the combined factors of insufficient state support for the university and no tuition increases for eight years.
As we have communicated previously, the effects of COVID-19 on our campus budget are significant and projected to total more than $340 million. As detailed below, we will be able to mitigate much of these financial impacts of COVID-19 through short term borrowing, federal funding, and human resource actions leaving a gap of $65 million for fiscal year 2021. Compared to financial pressures that Berkeley has faced in the past, the current situation is distinct in four ways. First, multiple revenue streams are affected. Second, we face a need to increase expenditures in some areas to support and facilitate remote work and instruction, testing and cleaning. Third, there is great uncertainty regarding the length and severity of the pandemic. Fourth, we do not know what the lasting effect the pandemic may have on student choices, higher edu cation generally, or on the broader economy.“”

Despite the school losing a lot on their budget, its just so strange they aren’t considering to accept more OOS to mend this issue.
That was a great share. Thank you! I do wanna say though, it does seem as if admission for Transfers was down, though it wasn’t a huge decrease. The increase of students was because of an increase of Freshmen admittance, not transfers.
“UC Berkeley admitted 4,779 incoming transfer students for 2020-2021, compared to 4,883 last year.”
This alongside with them saying that Transfers had not seen any increase in deferments might be the nail on the coffin for my hopes lol.
I do believe they admitted less than last year at this time
In the live chat, they said that they are not even sure about the decision being released before the 30th. WOW!!!
Today’s reps just tried not to tell any info
anyone got an email or changes about MAP?
Nope.
I think its coming out as live chat has been closed as well…
and it did not
