UC Berkeley financial aid questions

I got the blue and gold opportunity plan. I qualify for the Cal grant. But on my calnet page it says pel grant and uc transfer scholarship for a total of about 15,000. Each of those say that it “Will not disburse”. What does that mean? Does that mean I am not getting the award? If I get the award and the calgrant I can live on campus next year instead of commuting. This is what it says: “This is a conditional award and will not disburse to your student account. It is only an estimate of your aid eligibility and is subject to change. Please review your Financial Aid Tasks and Communications for additional information required to complete your financial aid file.”

It sounds like there is a document or something else due to the financial aid office. Call them and ask what’s missing.

Financial aid just switched to CalCentral so it looks different this year than previous years. I just looked up my sons. On the CalCentral “finances” page it details “Estimated Cost of Attendance”, “Gift Aid” etc… When I click “view awards”, underneath each scholarship it says “conditional” and to the right of it, it says $0, under which it says “will not dispurse”. Not sure what that means but I am not worried about it. On the left under “communications” it says “holds, tasks, messages”. You might want to read those.
I think, but am not an expert, that yes you are getting those scholarships.

Just clicked on “conditional financial aid” under messages/notifications and it says "your financial aid offer is conditional, it will be finalized over the summer, …

@tx5athome If this is true that is wonderful. I was so worried I would miss out on the college experience because of money. Im heading to Berkeley in a couple hours and I will see for myself.
