Bump bump bump

All applicants to Berkeley L&S are considered without respect to major, and all students admitted to Berkeley L&S enter as undeclared. A few [L&S majors](http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/major/majorlist.html) are capped (marked with # in the list in the link), so you may have to maintain a higher GPA and/or go through an admission process to declare the major after completing the prerequisites.

An L&S student changing to or adding a major in another division (Engineering, Chemistry, Business Administration, Natural Resources, or Environmental Design) typically requires going through an admission process (which can be very competitive). These other divisions may have different levels of freshman admission selectivity compared to L&S (and Engineering does have different levels of freshman admission selectivity by major, and you cannot apply directly to Business Administration as a freshman).

Basically, if you apply to Berkeley L&S, put any major you want, as long as it is consistent with what you write in the essays (i.e. don’t put down Comparative Literature while writing about your intellectual passion for everything other than literature).

I’ve decided to go undecided
But for my essays the world I come from is about my ethnic heritage and culture
The other is about a contribution I made to a non profit that I volunteer at. So I don’t really discuss a major.

Based on your courses and activities, would be a good guess that you are considering majoring in physics? Be aware that that physics has a 7-semester long prerequisite sequence (6-semester long if you start in a more advanced math course due to AP calculus credit), so you would need to start off the math and physics course sequences early to stay on schedule.
