Hi

I am currently a High school student who is about to graduate, i have been taking classes since earlier this year(School year), by the end of this quarter i will have 30 qrtr credits(maybe more from AP testing). I understand that Berkeley is on a semester system does this mean i have to get 90 qtr units? Also what type of extra curricular am i looking at to get admission? is it possible? It would be really helpful to get help from people who have transfered in one year or anyone…

p.s. I go to De Anza, sometimes foothill

bump… can someone who has transfered to HAAS give me advice?

Read everything there. Berkeley has a lot of requirements that you likely won’t fulfill in one year. They absolutely will not accept you if you don’t complete them. I suggest talking directly to a HAAS transfer counselor and start planning your schedule right away. Needless to say, you’re going to be in school non-stop starting this summer if you’re lucky enough to get classes. I’m sure you’ve heard by now that the CCC system is experiencing a metric ****-ton of strain and that some are even cutting entire intersessions or limiting the amount of classes you can enroll in.

My suggestion: find a way to get priority enrollment and get your classes on your assigned date and time. Priority enrollment is so cash. At my school you can do this by/through:
- Being a Veteran
- EOPS
- Scholar’s Program

So what I would do if I were in your position…
- Figure out how much UC credit you can get for your AP coursework by talking to a De Anza counselor and figure out how to get priority enrollment while you’re there.
- Talk to Berkeley HAAS transfer reps.
- Plan a schedule accordingly
- Go to school full-time this summer session and find an internship or job on the side. You are expected to submit a resume and most people will have had twice as much time as you to fill theirs out.

Best of luck
