so if its forbidden, its a good sign. i thought its the opposite?
Is it a good sign?
No clue, I thought you were stating a fact and not asking
@Rach_Joe Tagging you here to continue the thread in portal astrology. There are two zoom sessions, one is for Global Edge, the other more general is for Freshman Edge. Which one did he try to register for? Wonder if because heās Engineering he is unable to register for Global Edge which is for certain departments?
As per the website -To be eligible for Global Edge, you must:
Be a newly admitted freshman in the College of Letters and Science, Rausser College of Natural Resources, or Haas Global Management Programā¦
He registered for the freshman edge but there was a pop up message saying " this is for registered applicants only. Please enter another email" though he entered the email which was given to UCB.
Heās an engineering major. He tried to apply for freshman edge and for the march 17th Zoom meetings but heās unable to register for both.
There might be a glitch in the system. A few people on Reddit said they got the same message and tried registering a different email but with their name and it worked?
Can we do that? Im afraid to do that.
I dont know whatās allowed?! My son was able to register for both programs with his email that he used on the applicationā¦no idea if that means anything different.
ETA: heās not an engineering student
Ok thank you. Can you share to me the Reditt link pls?

If you scroll down the mom there says her sons email didnāt work, but hers did.
The only thing portal astrology that seems odd is a couple of the zoom session registrations are after decisions come out. Why would someone who didnāt get in attend the session?
Oh gosh! This is so confusing. Exactly you are right. Why would some one who didnāt get attend the sessions and have their hopes on that.
@rach_joe @bcuzicare On Freshman Edge webpage Freshman Edge | Berkeley Summer Sessions, there is this comment so this may be why engineering majors are having difficulty registering for Freshman Edge zooms.
College of Engineering students: It is strongly recommended that College of Engineering students interested in Freshman Edge consult with their ESS Adviser before registering for Freshman Edge.
Thank you very much. Alrite then we will wait for the decisions to be out and then will register later. If this email is sent to everyone then it doesnāt make any sense.
Historically and also as expected in message⦠this notification is only meant for admitted freshmen. So technically they should be setup to support about 4000 to 5000 people registering.
Now imagine ⦠if this is sent by mistake. It will reach audience of 100K+. And if everyone registers⦠are they equipped to support this sort of massive audience?
So wondering ⦠if this is a mistake at all?
I was able to register my son who is an Engineering college applicant. I dont think this email means much as it didnt ask for any Applicant Id information.
I was able to register for the freshman edge on 25, with DDs email she used for applications.
She applied for architecture.
I tried with my name and emaiil and it did not work. Said " This meeting is for authorized registrants only. Please enter another email address."
I think March 17 Zoom meeting is questionable. Did it work for any body else? It is before March 28 official decision date. Try with later ones and see if it works.
Now my son is able to register using another email and entering his name.
But he only applied for virtual information session on March 21st , we will wait for the decisions to be out to register for the freshman Edge.
