I’m a freshman at UC Berkeley and was wondering how applying for summer session works. The website tells me that you just apply for classes through CalCentral, but I need to know things like total cost, how likely it is I will get the classes I need, and how many courses would make sense over an 8wk session.

Some classes are in a high demand and some are not, it really depends on your major. I know that science classes like MCB 102 (biochem) or Physics don’t fill up fast since these are hard classes that most people prefer to take during Fall/Spring. You can find the fees here:

If you get FA for Spring/Fall, you will also get it during Summer (but you’ll need to be a full time student in order to receive FA). I would suggest no more than 2 classes in a summer session.
