@cognitives I’m a Sociology major 
I’m the total opposite because I’m leaning towards UCLA for Fall quarter! It’s actually closer to my home! Lol. I’m really happy that UCB admitted us. If you don’t mind me asking, what was your GPA for your major?
@ashxio All I can say is that the average admitted Computer Science major for Cal is 3.89 to 4.0 according to this: https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major . My GPA was…quite lower and I never expected to get into Cal. I don’t feel comfortable posting my GPA since it’s not what people would expect nor do I want them to base my application off of it, sorry 
hello everyone, i have been a long time lurker.
i actually got accepted! quite shocking.
i am from a local ccc
major: mathematics
gap: 4.0, then 3.85 after tau update (due to the napa norcal fires, which i explained in the update)
ecs: a lot, held many leadership positions in stem clubs, stem tutor, supplemental instructor, church volunteer, teen leader, etc…
prerequisite: will be finished by spring 2018
igetc: will be finished by spring 2018
schools applied: ucb, ucsd, ucla, ucd
accepted: all
i actually thought i was going to get rejected. in high school, they denied me so i decided to apply again just to see if they would accept me. i didn’t think i was going to get accepted, ucsd was my top choice, but now after seeing the acceptance from ucb, it’ll be tough, haha.

@cognitives lol it’s cool! my GPA was a bit lower in the admit range for Sociology as well. And I agree I believe a gpa doesn’t define who you are. On the bright side, we got accepted and not rejected because they saw potential in us.
did anybody not fill out the College of Letters and Science Breadth form and get in ?? I got rejected and the required form popped up for me beginning of April… When I clicked the link it wouldn’t let me fill it out /:

Side Note: I took one calc class (never took precalc) and received a C that really lowered my GPA, it wasn’t required for my major and I was taking 21 units at the time. I explained that in my app. I felt that I had no chance because of my GPA… just to show anyone has a good shot if they have a well rounded application!

Even though I literally live right next to Berkeley, I will be accepting my offer from ucla. Berkeley will want me to take calculus which is something I really don’t want to do at UC with grade deflation since I’m planning on graduate school. Plus ucla has a much better set up for transfer students with the transfer dorms and everything.

-EC’s: I spent time in the costume department for 3 semesters. I worked around 25 hours a week with a heavy course load. I was in Art Club one semester. Not outstanding but enough to take up most of my time.
-Essays: I’d say 7/10. I spent about a week on them, didn’t have anyone but my family proofread them. I wrote about health issues, love for vintage clothes, and my experience as a student costume designer. I’m a pretty good writer but I don’t feel like I had totally amazing essays.
Totally stoked to be going to Cal!
Is there like a transfer day? Where we can go tour the campus and everything?

I think I got waitlisted, A) cause obviously its not the best but B) I spent much of my essay talking about my life in Berkeley and less about what I wanted to do there. If I dont get in, I’ll stay another semester and bump that gpa up into the 3.8’s if that really why I got knocked into the waitlist. I know a 3.71 who got in. Felt really bad for the rejecteds tho. Admissions came out in class, two freaked out in joy, others barged out.
