I’m from Washington State and have applied to UC Berkeley and USC and of course just curious and wonder what realistic chances are with GPA of 3.7, 5 AP classes senior year, ACT of 28, team captain for girls cross country, etc. With out of state slots limited at UC, seems remote but would love your opinion. Thanks. This is helpful to read people’s opinions.
Stats are low for both schools.
If I were you, I’d look more seriously at gaining admission to UW-Seattle, even if you want to leave Washington. Your stats don’t make you that competitive, and the academic resources you’d receive from UW may be the best going for you. I’d say maybe a waitlist chance at USC. Still, work on those grades / scores. If you’re a strong athlete, you won’t give up easily.
Do you think you could be a division 1 cross country recruit? That may change things. Then maybe look at other schools with strong cross country programs.
