UC berkeley with 3.8?

Earlier this week I was told of a friend who was accepted into UCB with a weighted 3.6 gpa. He had ok extracurricular and in his essay explained the hardship of overcoming Asperger’s syndrome. Despite his amazing essay, is it possible for someone like him who has mediocre grades and ECs to get into Berkeley?

Yes. You’re fine. You could even get into HYPSM with a 3.8…what a revelation.

I think he means weighted 3.8 which is lower than UC Riverside’s average. Then no I don’t think Berkeley is feasible and the Ivies are probably close to impossible unless you cured cancer.

Perhaps it is possible, but it does not seem very likely.

Whoops. @kei04086‌ would be right. A 3.8 weighted isn’t feasible with a 3.8 weighted and the Ivies would be impossible. Now, if it was a 3.8 unweighted, that would be a different story.

Unweighted, sorry for the lack of detail and late response.
