This may sound like the thousands of other applicants, but I am a junior in high school and freshman year i had 2 B’s (rest were As), sophomore year I had a B and my first ever C in spanish 2, and the rest were A’s. the honors classes I took freshman and sophomore year were Honors Bio, Honors English 9, and Honors English 10 because that was all that was possible for me to take. Junior year I’m taking AP bio, AP Stats, AP english, honors precalc, and honors chem. Theres a little less than a month left of the semester and I have about 3 B+s, and I think i can raise them through tests and finals, but my main reason for wanting to go to Berkeley is because I am very passionate about justice in our healthcare system and environmental policies, I started a club at school to raise awareness on these issues and am looking to be president of Plant Club (vegan/environmental club), and joined Students for the Ethical Treatment of Animals Club and Earth Club this year. I am volunteering with similar organizations and am looking to write about this on my application. My SAT scores (I am taking my first one in Dec) are a little lower than what I am aiming for (1450 is my goal, I’m at aroung 1300 right now.) but I am currently trying to maintain grades and SAT practice at the same time.
I’m really nervous about my grades. I was in cross country but due to injuries and grades I stopped, and I also have been swimming in spring since 9th grade, although I don’t think those will help. I am very passionate about what I want to study [Environmental science or policy (or Bio sciences) then law], but I know if I don’t make the grades this semester I am screwed. I know I should have been working at it in the beginning of the semester but I need to focus on what I can do now. The environment at Berkeley is perfect for what I want to accomplish for the world. I know i NEED straight A’s this semester, any tips? I am a mess lol just the thought of ending the semester with a B is making me cringe
