UC Boulder, UCSB, or NYU

Hello. I am a Washington State student and cannot decide where to go. I really want to get out of the Seattle gloom which is why I have no interest in UW. I love the outdoors and because of my interest in practically everything outdoor related UC Boulder is incredibly interesting. But, the warm weather at UCSB is enticing. I recently visited NYU and absolutely loved it. I know I would probably have to give up some of my outdoor adventures but I think the subway, the city, and the career prospects could fill its place. As far as majors go, I’m undecided. I really have no particular interest in any field and have no idea what I want to do. All of these schools seem pretty well rounded in any area so academically I’m not all that concerned. NYU offers an incredibly study abroad program which I plan on doing in any college. If anyone knows any information about these three school please let me know and help me decide!

Are you applying for next year? Do you have a college budget? UCSB as an out of state applicant will be around $65K/year with little to no financial aid so is this amount affordable?

What else do you want to know? What are your qualifications: UC GPA, SAT/ACT scores, HS course rigor, EC’s and Intended major?

I’m a senior and I’m taking a gap year so I’ll be applying for fall 2019. Unweighted GPA: 3.93 Weighted GPA: 4.53 Weighted and Capped GPA: 4.53 I have a bunch of diverse and longtime extra curriculars. I’m not worried about getting in as I don’t really have a dream school so I know whichever one I end up at, I’ll be ok. The financing isn’t a big issue but obviously I would like to not spend that much on undergrad. NYU is worse and Boulder isn’t that much better. I know the best bet is going in state but I cannot handle the gloom for more reasons than the fact that it’s depressing.

As I said, I do not have any idea what my intended major is. I love language, criminal justice, philosophy, psychology, so likely something involving a little bit of those topics. I’ve asked everyone I know their advice about what location/school would be best and I’ve gotten mixed reviews. I want an outsider’s opinion based on the information I’ve given. I love theatre (have been extremely involved in high school), I love playing sports, exploring the outdoors and both extremely warm and extremely cold weather.

Test scores?
Do you really have an NYU budget? You are not asking for FA?
Did you do applications this year? What were the results? Gap year kids are usually advised to get accepted and defer, if the gap year is planned. If the gap year is unplanned, is it due to rejections?
