I’m currently a freshmen at UCI.
I’ll be an international student starting April 2012, and the tuition rate for UCI for international students is really really really expensive…
so i was considering the option of dropping out to a CC for 2011-2012 and transferring to CSULB for fall 2012 or if possible, spring of 2011.
What are your thoughts on this?

thanks,

I have no idea, but I would double check that you would suddenly be counted as an international student in 2012. How is it that you are this year given in-country status and the next international status?

Also, are you certain that CSULB’s rates for internationals will remain low as well? Is there a possibility that whatever rate hikes UCI is going through will also happen to CSULB?

As for the question about the chain of transfers - it’s fairly routine and done all the time. The CCCs are pretty much open, and the CSUs are also fairly easy to get into if you have a good GPA.
