UC chance thread, help a fellow out!

<p>SAT I: 1970 (640 writing 660 math 670 cr)
SAT II: Math II: 730 Biology: 660
UC GPA: 3.5</p>

<p>I go to Monta Vista, 7th ranked HS in the State, 57th in the nation. I have no idea about my class rank, don’t think its too high though because of my competitive class. </p>

CA resident</p>

<p>100 hours volunteer at American Cancer Society
On the HS swim team junior year
Lead children services at Church
Intern at Trend Micro Inc.</p>

<p>Please tell me my chances for the mid-tier UCs (UCI UCISB UCD) and UCSD.</p>

<p>Also, do UCs put any weight on how competitive/hard your HS is?</p>

UCI/UCSB/UCD: Slight Reach</p>

<p>Your GPA is low for UCI/UCSB/UCD, but your SAT is well above their averages. I think you got a shot at the mid-tier UC’s cause of your SAT. Top Tier UC’s such as UCSD are not realistic though becaause of your GPA. Shoot for one of the mid tier UC’s and apply to UCR, UCM, and UCSC as your backups. Best of luck!</p>
