I was going through my parents’ old jewelry this eve. My dad went to UC Berkeley around 1938. I found an old, very worn UC class ring that, on first glance, I thought said 1968, but after I cleaned it up a little, I saw that it said 1868. It had no indication of which UC school it was, I assume it was Berkeley, because I know my dad’s dad also went to Berkeley, but I don’t know when. I also found out that Berkeley was just founded in 1868 or 1869. Does anyone have any info on class rings back then? I am looking on line for students at that time, but there were only around 40 in the first class & I haven’t found a roster. I’m real excited about this find & hope to get some more info about it.
